No they are not being considered.

TCX A330s

Out of curiosity, can the airport move the 3 A330s around as required or do they need approval form the administrator? I was under the impression that once an aircraft was impounded it couldn't be moved until all fees are paid but that's obviously not been the case.
speaking of them, is there any updates on their fate? I've heard rumours of them being scrapped on site but with man being tight on space I can't see that happening unless they're in that bad of condition?

They get approval from the administrators as far as I know. They are also in a really bad condition. They would need a lot of work before being able to be air worthy and there is nobody at MAN who can do it.

Just been watching #Manctopia.

My God it looks like Manhattan, no wonder the airport was on a massive upward trajectory before Covid.

Leaves every other city in its shadow looking at the rate of private investment pouring in.

Dire figures for MAG, out if interest do you have any other calculations for eg Dublin, Edinburgh or Birmingham.

chaps1954 19th Aug 2020 08:02

I think most UK airports are the same but can`t speak for Dublin but probably well down as virtually no flights to UK and US
Manchester figures for August will probably be quite a bit better due to all the Jet2 and TUI flights and a lot of extra Easy and Ryanair.
at presentthere are about 100+ arrivals a day

Statement from Manchester Airport - consolidation of operations - 21.08.20

Karen Smart, Managing Director at Manchester Airport, said:

“Throughout the pandemic, we have worked closely with our airlines and retailers to align our operations with demand and to deliver the best possible customer experience.

“This has included introducing a number of new measures to keep passengers safe and give them the confidence to travel through Manchester Airport, in line with government guidance.

“Having re-opened Terminals Two and Three in July, we have continued to monitor the travel patterns of our airlines and passengers, in order to adapt our operations accordingly.

“With that in mind, we have taken the decision to close Terminal Two again from September 2.

“All such decisions are driven by our commitment to deliver the best possible airport experience to customers, colleagues and our airline and retail partners.

“From September 2, all flights will operate from Terminals One and Three and Terminal Two will remain closed until further notice.

“Passengers who were due to fly from or into Terminal Two after that date should contact their airlines to confirm which terminal their flight will be transferred to.

“Our Terminal Two car parks will also close effective of September 2, although customers who have booked parking after this date will be able to transfer their booking to an alternative car park.”

It seems Delta has shelved it’s plans for BOS next summer, no mention of it whatsoever in the recent press release for the U.K. and Ireland programme in 2021. My guess is Delta could well take back either JFK or ATL should Virgin cease ops.
