Ryanair

FR Edinburgh and Glasgow suspended for the winter season (Nov-Mar) as part of their Europe capacity cuts.

southside bobby 27th Sep 2017 13:38

EssexMan61...Tragic post matey..:=

daz211 27th Sep 2017 13:48

I wonder if EZY will add more rotations to EDI and GLA.

Bet Jet2 can't believe how lucky they are with all these cancellations going on it's pushing 1000's more through its website and onto its aircraft so many people travel to ACE, LPA, TFS, FUE between now and March even though I don't think Ryanair would cancel flights on these routes I would suggest people would hesitant booking with Ryanair and chose an alternative airline.

mikkie4 28th Sep 2017 05:10

could be good news for the new SEN _ GLASGOW service which starts at the end of october:D

southside bobby 28th Sep 2017 07:52

Two QTR A320`s arrived @ STN yesterday PM from DOH & remain parked..

STN406 28th Sep 2017 08:35

Anyone got any ideas of what the QTR A320’s are doing up here. Flying for the Qatari Government maybe?

pabely 28th Sep 2017 11:56

For someone to run some Scottish routes.......:p

STN406 28th Sep 2017 12:17

I would hope EasyJet would step up and take advantage but I very much doubt they will. They to be very slow to start any new ones let alone increase current routes.

southside bobby 28th Sep 2017 12:19

I don`t normally post concerning aircraft comings & goings...but I thought I would put it out there hence my original post this AM re the QTR A320`s.It appears they were positioning flights & carrying further flight deck & cabin crews.Officially & unofficially no one claiming to know....all appears shtoom..Qatari Government put thru many flights but have never had to resort to QTR mainline metal..they have plenty of their own..

BCALBOY 28th Sep 2017 12:28

easyjet already fly to Glasgow and Edinburgh from Gatwick , Luton and Stansted.

There are normally 3 flights a day from each of the London airports to/from Gla.

There are 4 or 5 flights a day to/from Edi.

pamann 28th Sep 2017 13:12

What happened to the rumour of AZ moving their ops from LHR to STN?

All gone a bit quiet.

Captain_Caveman 28th Sep 2017 14:19

Another 8 QR A320’s will be heading westbound from DOH with the first leaving this evening.

Interesting times ahead !

southside bobby 28th Sep 2017 16:00

Blimey...if so then one of my two suppositions to self might well prove to be correct...

Skipness One Echo 28th Sep 2017 16:26

So have Ryanair done a BA and ordered the lease of a ready made Qatari sub fleet?

southside bobby 28th Sep 2017 16:27

Just observed the addition of "interesting times ahead"....Certainly...

pabely 28th Sep 2017 16:28

FR24 shows 2 x B77X sheduled, but that could change

The96er 28th Sep 2017 16:28

.. or the CAA are building up a fleet again for an impending.... I'll get my coat

southside bobby 28th Sep 2017 16:31

The QTR B777 showing almost certainly the sched freighter..

southside bobby 28th Sep 2017 16:38

& the other maybe subtle change of wording heading "westbound" out of DOH...

toledoashley 28th Sep 2017 16:47

Who says its for Ryanair?

compton3bravo 28th Sep 2017 16:48

I do hope it is not a re-run of 12 months ago from everybody's sake.

daz211 28th Sep 2017 16:55

Probably nothing to do with it but if I understand it correctly Monarchs ATOL is up for renewal this Saturday but there is so many other things happening who knows what's going on

Update to previous post:
So overnight it seems the other 8 a/c have had their ferry flights cancelled for the time being and are on standby in DOH...

southside bobby 29th Sep 2017 06:02

Thanks for info..was failing to find indication of arrivals into STN...if indeed STN is or was the intended destination this time..

daz211 29th Sep 2017 12:02

Exclusive: Qatar Airways are once again sending ten Airbus A320's over to London + crew, in order to operate for British Airways.
2 x Qatar Airways A320s (A7-LAC & A7-LAH) have already positioned to London Stansted with flight crew & cabin crew - 8 more A320s to follow

toledoashley 29th Sep 2017 12:04

Why are they heading to Stansted and not direct to Heathrow?

compton3bravo 29th Sep 2017 12:10

May I congratulate DAZ on your news as one who was connected with the media for most of my working life, there is nothing like getting an exclusive story. More room at Stansted than Heathrow for the aircraft to be kept until when needed.

daz211 29th Sep 2017 12:23

Thank you Compton
However I don't have the full story as I am unaware of any planned strike action by BA
So I guess I will have to dig a little deeper unles anyone else has any idea what's going on.

southside bobby 29th Sep 2017 12:49

Well done...& no..only suppositions which your "scoop" has put aside...Still raises questions tho...London stated as intended destination does that make it then firstly to STN or to LHR?..

The96er 29th Sep 2017 13:14

Or perhaps a regulatory body has requested the services of the national airline who in turn have charted the a/c from QR ! - but for what purpose ?. I'm not aware of any imminent strike action nor any Pilot/Aircraft shortage in the BA fleet.

daz211 29th Sep 2017 13:30

With an announcement reported to be imminent from Monarch is there any doubt in the renewal of it ATOL today ?

I'm not suggesting or reporting any doubt it just a question.

whitelighter 29th Sep 2017 22:44

Damn site cheaper to park up 10 or so A320s at stansted than at Heathrow.
In fact, is there even room to get an extra unplanned 10 aircraft on the ground at Heathrow for an undetermined period of time.

Drop into STN, get a deal on parking and depart on the LAM sid when needed

01475 30th Sep 2017 00:47

Are there actually 10 A320s parked up anywhere?

Has the DM sourced the story from here?

crewmeal 30th Sep 2017 06:19

Parking at STN would be a lot cheaper than LHR. Also where would they park 10 320's at LHR if they're not being used for the time being?

Perhaps there's another BA cabin crew strike pending?

toledoashley 30th Sep 2017 06:32

(AlexInAir) on Twitter - who is currently in Qatar has speculated it - although given no credible source. He freelances including the Daily Fail.

With the news now more out in the open I can say I tried to hint at this yesterday and the day before dut didn't want to be shot down on here

UK Parliament Ministers are bracing for possibility that Monarch Airlines may collapse imminently Talks have been going on behind the scenes for days and even a Cobra meeting has been held.

SWBKCB 30th Sep 2017 08:35

Why would Cobra be involved - where's the UK strategic interest?

Sounds like a bit of gaming to reduce, for example, the competition scrutiny on any transfer of Gatwick slots :suspect:

The twenty year old alleged analyst. I know that some pilots called him out to prove his tweets by providing sources and he threw his toys out of his pram.

daz211 30th Sep 2017 13:14

From sky new

Sky Sources: The future of Monarch Airlines is in doubt as the aviation regulator decides whether to grant it a temporary licence extension

Also some news coming out (all be it on twitter) about Qatar aircraft positioned at STN are to fly as rescue flights for Monarch if a temporary licence is not given.

_aax1 6th Oct 2017 11:53

Does anyone know why two Japanese flags are flying alongside the Union Jack today at Enterpise house?
