With a night stop at BHD KL could do v well with a suitably sized plane. Early out and late back would bd optimum for connections , suit the business traveller. To rival that ezy would def need x2 daily.

GAZMO 19th Jun 2014 21:22

If so I expect EZY to go double daily on Monday, Friday and Sunday.
I think KLM double daily on other days would have low LF

When BMI baby went into AMS it wasn't too long before they dropped the Tues and Wednesday rotation

The aspect of using AMS as a hub I feel is a non starter. Most NI pax will still use LHR or make the journey to DUB

stab3.5up 19th Jun 2014 21:24

Double daily minimum or pointless really. But this KLM story seems to be BHDs old chestnut that wont die. I dont think I will hold my breath on this one or TK starting from BHD. When AirUk did the AMD before they pulled the plug even though all the flights full but them got such a small percentage cut in fare from onward carriers and especially northwest orient to to the states they pulled the route.

If it is marketed well the batyle will be BA vs KLM as they both after the onward business and high yield fares

onyxcrowle 19th Jun 2014 22:15

Are Klm starting to look at another few uk routes? .
Last year they did say they planned a few more UK regional airports.
Which Leaves BHD. DSA. EMA. To my knowledge.
Would Inverness work?.
Or dye to oil industy rapud exoansion at Sumburgh. Could a direct KLM flight work to there ?.
Second would an E170 be able to get in and out of Sumburgh or would it need to be some kind of cide share with Flybe And a Q400.
Or a cityjet Avro RJ100.
Woukd Newquay support a Klm Service?.
Southend?.
Lydd?.

Jack1985 20th Jun 2014 10:37

Have to agree. Jack1985 EZY will do double daily on Mon Fri and Sun and squeeze the market. Same as when BMI baby tried.
Spot on! Unfortunately thats how it works.

JobsaGoodun 20th Jun 2014 15:30

KLM already codeshare on Flybe's daily INVAMS Q400 service - they have done ever since it started approx 18mths ago I think. They also codeshare on SOU too.

HM & HRH-DoE just arrived on a chartered business jet. I didn't realise City airport was designated to handle them.

What they managed to get the entire Dept of the Environment on a single plane? :}

Nah it was easy enough, there weren't many interested once they heard they had to use their own flexi-time :E

Most of the Royal family have been using BHD for years, much like they do at RAF (or whatever its now called) Aldergrove..it just depends on where they need to attend. Same for the PM, the Irish leaders etc.

BFS101 16th Jul 2014 22:11

After the move to Terminal 5, I see BA are upguaging many flights to BHD from A319's to A320's and even a few A321's!!

LinksAir landing gear issue closes Doncaster Airport, flight from BHD

BBC News - Doncaster Airport closed after aircraft landing incident

Only one passenger on board!!!

TimmyW 15th Aug 2014 22:04

As i've posted elsewhere, with Links being new to the scheduled world, this could be a very quick exit from it as well. I wouldn't expect the service to continue after this. They don't have a replacement aircraft for a start, they are used elsewhere.

vectisman 16th Aug 2014 08:52

TimmyW
Maybe it is an incorrect perception on my part but your posts always
seem to predicting doom and gloom for either an airport or an airline.
Not very helpful and very boring to read.

Absolutely vman.

Timmy hasn't realised that the airline will look at all options to recover the programme, which shouldn't be too difficult.

david1994 16th Aug 2014 13:12

LinksAir have 3 aircraft 2 leased to CityWing they will use G-LNKS for the DSA route for time being

Thankfully, others including Links Air, have more realistic expectations than yourself. If they don't have a replacement aircraft, as you tell us, why has one of their own aircraft flown into DSA earlier this afternoon to operate the schedules?

Rob732 17th Aug 2014 15:43

LNQ206 on it's way to BHD.
