No I'd agree.

LHR is also on sale up to nearly a year in advance.

LHR is probally relatively safe for now, with the extra slot pair they got this year it has filled the major gap in schedule at DUB which is the current 08.50 ex BHD. This is their 10th year flying the route from NI.

Belfast City Airport nominated for global aviation award - The Irish News

Maybe I'm being either harsh or unfair but being nominated for awards? Really? Is that DH8 a few times a week to Iceland bringing in more revenue than anyone thinks? Obviously a route to Iceland is much better than replacing that useless Gatwick flight! Thank goodness they won that seats for sale fight, the terminal must be absolutely bursting with all those extra flights, or maybe not. Any recent figures to back up Ms Bests propaganda of having a fantastic and successful year so far?

GAZMO 13th Aug 2017 18:38

going by the numbers on their website all months are down compared to 2016, except April with a small increase

mart901 13th Aug 2017 19:36

Would it be possible for BHD to get a good news story or new route without it being dammed on here. And over on BFS thread we are arguing about border controls.... Shoot me now

Alicante starting dates:

28 April 2016

Faro:
30 March 2017
26 March 2016
29 March 2015

Mart the issue is that there is a lack of good news stories from Harbour at the minute and has been for quite some time! Aldergrove have been in a very bullish and successful run recently and the longer this continues then the harder it is going to be for Harbour to play catch up.:uhoh:

The strange thing is that their minister for propaganda seems adamant that everything is rosy in the garden and that Harbour is enjoying another successful year, deluded is the word! They have lost almost their entire leisure connection to London, something I would have thought would be worth replacing but there doesn't appear to be any hint of it. Maybe it is a waiting game to see who blinks first with Easy and Ryanair? Maybe another carrier would be massive over capacity?

CAA stats

Strange that the CAA have posted the BFS July passenger numbers yet BHD are yet to post their June ones! Unusual or what?

mart901 16th Aug 2017 14:10

Yes but my issue panpanetc is that when there is a good news story it's met with scathing on here, accusations of bribery, Brown envelopes, tourist board connections etc.

BFS watcher - there's about 30 other airports yet to report, and there's nearly always an airport or two a few months behind. Nothing strange about it.

June still not in for BHD and I quote from the CAA below July yes 30 airports still to be uploaded!

As of 14 August 2017, the following airports are not yet available for reporting and are therefore excluded: Belfast City (George Best) and Lydd
