And build another cul de sac, one of the few good things about the current layout is aircraft pushing back on the eastern end can go back far enough to allow arrivals pass in front while they start up. That would go with eastward expansion. 1 in, 1 out really slows down movements
Aircraft will be able to arrive/depart between F/E at the same time.

So whilst a departure was taxiing out of the eastern end of T2 for either 28 or 34 you would need to hold any arrival at F until departure was clear? This blocking any departures from T1 from getting to the runway? Granted 16/34 can be used for taxiing during single ops on 28, but not during 16/34 ops or dual runway IE peak period. I know dual ops is only certified for 90 mins a day and is exceptionally departure biased but available taxiways are at a premium in DUB at the best of times, let alone during peak periods.

Not trying to be antagonistic btw, just trying to figure out if the DAA are actually going to build something right airside for a change. The plans I've seen for 28R/10L are great, mainly due the 2 new parallel taxiways on the south side allowing a certain carrier to wait for their numbers on acars without delaying everyone else....

What I am referring to was with 16/34 gone but a new plan will be published short term. Anyway a new runway will be in place before any future terminal development takes place so the bulk of issues will be gone that are causing the major problems.

As for the daa I agree not prefect by any stretch.

AA

August is the reported start month for AA B777 on ORD, does seem a strange time to up capacity but will be a great addition.

Great news yet again , should just about reach the 25m mark .

Great news yet again

Bonus for the board. Balloons and whistles for everyone else.

If true hopefully it will improve their OTP, because it's pathetic normally!
They had an exceptional season this year, fewer than 3 cancellations (if than many), fewer than 5 major delays (longest 4 hours(, flights were more less departing on time or ahead of schedule all summer.

Whatever aircraft schedule changes took place at ORD paid off big time.

The refit is from three class FCY to three class CWY, right sizing in this market I think. First is giving way to a premium economy product.

Armodeen 8th Dec 2015 17:29

With the massive delays in the refit work on the AA 772 fleet it will be more like end 2017 rather than 2016 when they are all completed. I think they have only managed to complete 6? so far from a fleet of 47!

alserire 8th Dec 2015 18:03

Just noticed that Agean's flight to ATH is overnight. Departs 23.15, arrives 05.15. Intra Europe that's just ridiculous. Who wants to take a four hour flight that takes away a night's sleep, especially when EI has Tuesday and Thursday departures at 7 a.m. and Saturdays at 14.40.

Mad stuff.

LAX_LHR 8th Dec 2015 18:05

Aegean have been doing this for a few years on MAN and BHX flights with departures at 22:50 and 2305, so is nothing new.

alserire 8th Dec 2015 18:14

Can't imagine why you'd go with it though, if there was an available and far better timed alternative. I've never been and am thinking about it but no way am I doing it overnight.

irishair2001 9th Dec 2015 05:28

Malev used to do ATH overnight from Dub a few years back ,to increase utilisation of the aircraft during its layover from the BUD flight

CallBell 9th Dec 2015 11:09

DUB-ATH

Would an 0515 arrival in ATH be a good time if you were to connect to the ferry services from Pireaus? The other flights often necessitate a night in Athens before heading off to the islands.

LGWAlan 9th Dec 2015 12:57

Far better connections to the islands off an overnight flight. Some islands do require an overnight stop to reach on a daytime flight.

alserire 9th Dec 2015 18:44

I would have thought people going to the islands would mainly be on packages. And if not surely you'd want to spend a day or two in Athens? Anyway, no biggie. Just thought it was a little odd.

PPRuNeUser0176 10th Dec 2015 15:44

EI return 07.50 JFK for June/July/August nobody is sure how they are operating it as currentl schedules suggest fifth 752 required unless they sub SNN again.

AerRyan 10th Dec 2015 16:14

Really?

If they bring back that 767 they are daft.

alserire 10th Dec 2015 17:29

EI website says for JFK 07.50

"Operated by A S L Airlines Irl For Aer Lingus Boeing 757"
