If I were Flyglobbie, given the disenchantment amongst many in Abdn just now (council, cutbacks, footie club, etc, etc) I would lay on more winter flights this year, soz folk can get the hell away from the place!! :E

simfly 16th Apr 2008 12:54

Had to rub my eyes several times last wed (9th) whilst awaiting my flight in Heathrow, when I saw a 767 in Globespan c/s taking off???? Anyone know why one was in LHR? Didn't expect to see one there.....

airhumberside 16th Apr 2008 13:10

Operating for Air India possibly?

webby1919 16th Apr 2008 14:26

I don't see GSm operating a full schedule for based A/C over W08. It's just too expensive when they can utilise the A/C elsewhere. Usual AGP and TFS should be retained for W08.

Delays have been minimal and flight delays are improving. The B752 will operate until May 2008, and then the B763ER will take over as of 24th May.
Sooner than you think. I fly out GLA-SFB 29th April and back 10 days later. GSM emailed me recently to change my pre-booked seats and the seating plan they sent me for both flights was a B763...yay!:ok:

smith 16th Apr 2008 17:43

I have just booked to sfb on 29/4 and when going to pre-book my seat, the a/c layout is a 767 config 2-3-2. it won't however let me book a seat. Any idea if it is going to be a 75 or 76 or even 73. Can I expect a stop in Bangor as they are non etops? Incidentally only paid £249 rtn which will be a bargain if all goes well.

G-CDPT and G-CEFG are painted in Air India colours. G-CEOD is painted in GSM livery.

G-CEOD is at LHR, operating for AIC whilst G-CDPT undergoes C check.

G-CEOD would be available to operate SFB route if G-CDPT gets back from check soon.

Operated to SFB via BGR in 757. Arrived in Orlando just 20mins behind schedule (non ETOPS). Direct back to BFS.

I see GSM have now changed the YHM flight from GLA & LGW to both SAT & WED im guessing it starts in LGW then via GLA.
Could they maybe be doubling MAN-YHM flights now that FRI are free?

TFS is actually daily from Glasgow.

Also, looks as though Summer schedule performing well and ahead of expectations, according to Rick Green, CEO of GSM.

LES353 17th Apr 2008 13:49

Has globespan got their ETOPS back todays flight from Glagow is now showing due in at 1.20pm instead of 3.00pm at Sandford!!!!!

fdw87 17th Apr 2008 14:59

yeah just seen that myself. fingers crossed!

fdw87 17th Apr 2008 15:01

just checked flytecomm, the flight doesnt appear to have stopped for a refuel even though its a 757, anyone able to explain?

webby1919 17th Apr 2008 15:08

Looks like we've got our etops back.

Flights released for W08:

GLA-ACE 2 weekly Thurs/Sun
ABZ-TFS Thurs departure - no W pattern - might have hope for based A/C.

fokkerplod 17th Apr 2008 16:46

no etops back yet!

ETOPS has not been re-instated, GSM725 also flew direct from gla to sfb on tuesday arriving 1hr ahead of schedule, due to favourable winds on the non-etops route. It did have to make a fuel stop in BGR on the return.

GSM725 today is also flying direct Non-ETOPS GLA-SFB

fdw87 18th Apr 2008 17:06

Not looking good on the SFB flight today looks like it hasn't even taken off yet and SFB website says "see agent" on the GSM arrival
Anyone no what has happened today?

afterdark 19th Apr 2008 04:00

would/should it be possible to put pax on a couple of 737-700's accross from GLA & BFS to BGR and return to help the route get back on track.

luvly jubbly 19th Apr 2008 06:48

And royally screw up the short haul programme?

poiuyt 11 19th Apr 2008 10:49

Couldn't agree more luvly jubbly, not to mention the ridiculous cost's involved. Once the 767 gets out the hangar im sure it will be better on the long haul scene.

CabinCrewe 19th Apr 2008 12:23

Delays probably due to horrendous headwinds....? Currently strong easterlies...
