Looks like Ive been beaten to it...!
Heard today from a very reliable source that the Shamrocks are coming to BFS. All I was told was that LHR is a definite with possible US routes, 2 A320s this autumn followed by a 3rd. My wee da would have been ecstatic, God rest him...x cf |
They'd be mad not to take up the Rome. They fly into real Rome too and not that miserable excuse for airport, Ciampino. I'd say LHR, FCO, BUD, RIX, BRU, CPH would all be easy picking. I'll bet they lay on TFS, ACE or LPA too once a week..they have the right machinery for it.

Brussels
Aer Lingus will announce BFS-BRU (12345-7)
Nice to see they'll be starting some new routes (and thereby getting the government support £'s I expect). However I expect they'll compete on Heathrow, Amsterdam, Paris, Barcelona, Malaga and Warsaw. The likes of Easyjet won't be the happiest of campers. |
Maybe this Belfast thread should be split into two. One for issues relating to BFS and one for BHD. :} |
CF
surely you are not saying that i`m not a reliable source!! I told you months ago the first flight will be November 3rd to LL. Nice to see you back on here. |
LL?
 |
EGLL= LHR .ATC drop the Eg .....
|
I was going to say its the TLA for Heathrow - the Two Letter Acronym!
|
What about dusseldorf as one of the aerlingus 15 routes.
|
As brussels appears to be a route, if EI ever get round to announcing, I checked how many flights a day they have from BRU-DUB thinking about 3 or 4, but there is only 2. I know Ryanair fly to near brussels, I tried Sabena but couldn't get into the site, do they fly DUB-BRU.
|
Belgium - Ireland
Aer Lingus flys almost twice daily on the Dublin to Brussels route.
Ryanair also fly almost twice daily on the Dublin to Charleroi route (although this seems to be reducing to once daily from this winter, despite it being 3 times daily last winter). Ryanair also fly Shannon to Charleroi three times a week. Brussels Airlines (Sabena) don't currently fly to Ireland. (They operated Brussels to Cork in the summer of 2005). |

Would EI look at BFS-ORK or would the thinness of the route and the possibility of pissing off RE (who are supposed to be restarting codeshares ex-DUB) rule that out?
|
...thinness of the route... ;) |
How can we take this seriously, the article itself says A320s for flights from BFS to the US:confused:
IMHO EI should have gone for Manchester, the potential for US flights from MAN was a good one. Regards Mike |
Annoucement at BHD
According to BBC Newsline an airline is to make an announcment at BHD tomorrow regarding new routes. No doubt it will be the Ryans moving in. Praying for a flight to Tampere, but i think thats and unlikely one.
|
an announcment at BHD tomorrow |
I'd not hold my breathe about Ryanair stating at BHD... but then again in this industry you just never know.
For N.Ireland Plc it would be a great announcement |
Would love to see a BHDLTN service from BE (would be great 2/3 daily with a DH8 to compete against EZY), dont think it would happen though. Would expect something along the line of Norwich/Coventry/Southend/Guernsey.
|
Welcome Ryanair
I would like to be the first to welcome Ryanair to BHD. It will be interesting to see where aircraft parks. Not a lot of room on the apron these days.
