Any evidence to support that claim Spicejetter or are you just shooting from the hip?

Back to the Nationalised Flag Carrier days then. S'pose if the Government can do it for Northern Rock they can do it for BA.
But seriously folks 'BA not looking so good either' spurious thread or what? |
Isn't BA the Worlds most profitable airline?
If BA's in the doo-doo, so are all the other airlines............ Only deeper!:ooh: |
rofl lol so true :p

"2.6 millions sterling"
It is amazings thats someones whose firsts language is obviously nots English has such detailed informations. HZ123 - Your post is worthy of the "Dirty Tricks Award 2008". BA has never been in better shape (and I am one of BA's serial whingers). The market is quite obviously consolidating (deepest sympathies to those who flew for Silverjet, XL etc). As the seats 'available' decrease, the future of those who remain improves. I expect to fly empty aircraft in November but that was always the case in the good times. (Perhaps when BAA are told that their 'use it or lose it' slot policy is illegal we shall see a more appropriate use of resources by all airlines in the UK) |
BA Managers
And what exactly do these Mangers do in British Airways?
1,400 British Airways managers offered voluntary redundancy as global downturn forces cut in wages bill | Mail Online |
Right Engine:ok:
not so much 'last man standing' as 'last tail flying'! There'll be more go before BA gets close to the precipice me thinks! |

What I cannot understand is the FF benefit is you are only supposed to have to pay the cost of the taxes, charges, etc for the flight. But looking at the example I mentioned, the charge is about £19 greater than the cost of taxes, fees on the regular full price flight.
The TFC being quoted for the economy award ticket are the same as for a business award ticket and for a business cash ticket. I believe that the TFC for the economy award ticket ought to be the same as for an economy cash ticket (ie £127.60, not £145.60). If you try to price the itinerary starting from London, you will get the TFC quoted properly for an economy award ticket - it's the same as for an economy cash ticket (£75.40). You only pay the business class level of TFC (£93.40) for either a business award ticket or a business cash ticket. So this is why I think that the problem is probably a website bug. |
"And what exactly do these Mangers do in British Airways?"
The same as they have done for years... F**k all! Still trying to work out what goes on at Waterworld.....:) |
This whole XL incident has given me the wake up call I very much needed.
I now relaise just how lucky I am to be working for BA. |
I'm afraid that kind of business logic went out in the 70s. BA are a private business and the government would let it go under without compunction. The idea that those wishing to invest in the UK would be deterred by the absence of a state funded safety net strikes me as rather peculiar. Nationalising a bank to prevent a wholesale breakdown of the banking industry is not the same as bailing out an airline.

?
How many 'British' airports are served by BA
|
LHR, LGW, MAN, NCL, EDI, GLA, ABZ and until recently NQY.
|
certainly not one of the BAsexuals on here |
I wish I could agree with you but following 9/11 the government made it painfully clear to BA that they were on their own. I don't believe anything's changed since then.
|
Guess they are not interested in the regions, or the second city, or the industrial areas of the Midlands then?
'British' should be dropped from the title, it is 'Airways' |
Yawn yawn. I suppose Manchester, Newcastle, Edinburgh, Glasgow and Aberdeen don't count as regions then? It's a tired and baseless argument boredcounter and it doesn't stand economic scrutiny. Maybe you should fly with Virgin instead as they serve all those airports so well.
