As a matter of fact the KLM loads from DTV are very good indeed - they are one of our best customers...it is childish remarks like that which causes tension!

-HD-

lighten up a little, it was a light hearted dig a DTV in the way inglbyboro's origional comment was a light hearted dig at NCL!

A deadheading crew under no circumstances are to be offloaded, it states quite clearly under the booking, however those passengesr that have onwards connections at EHAM are to take priority over those that are just traveling the one sector. This is obviously done due to the cost of compensating one sectors rather than the two.

KLM will allow their seats to be oversold by approx ten passengers this will make up for those business passengers that have altered their travel arrangements.

At CWL passengers are not upgraded/downgraded until chech-in had closed, this ensures that the flight is full rather than empty seats being on-baord due to pax refused at -60 mins. All standby pax are then told at the gate whether or not they will be travelling.

This is not an ideal situation, but KLM is a customer (A verry good Customer?) and that is what they require. He should just be greatful that he didn't have any cancellations due to teck aircraft or downgraded to a F-50 as he would have something to moan about (fokker 50 no business class).

EK to NYC

have a look at you tube and type in newcastle airport.
there is a launch video on there for EK to dubai but airport chiefs are stating that they now need an airline to go west to NYC and im sure at the end of it EK states they want to be part of it.

How about 2x daily to dubai with one of the flights carrying on to NYC?
time will tell.

EASYJET

keep an eye on the above expect some new routes to go on sale soon!
:)

SWBKCB 6th Dec 2007 17:30

"and im sure at the end of it EK states they want to be part of it."

I suggest you watch it again then - it's Alan Clarke from One North East!

I'll even start the next rumour myself - video also opens with inflight footage of an EK A.380...
;)

It has been discussed time and time again, that yes NCL is missing a scheduled link West to the USA, but I think it's been more or less put back a while. EK, dare I say it, could be a candidate in a link to NYC, they do a similar pattern from other European regional airports (HAM), but firstly could NCL sustain a twice daily operation to NYC 7 days a week using an aircraft other than the high density A330, and also is the F and C class passenger market in NCL to support the second leg westbound? It must also be taken into consideration, would a fully laiden A340/777 be able to depart unrestricted from NCL?

It is highly unlikely that this will happen, youtube is a great website but not everything is what it seems and we will (as already said) have to wait until something official is announced.

Those in the Jet2 camp are still talking about definate NCL expansion next winter, going into Summer 09 - will it happen, lets just wait and see.

Easyjet

HH6702, you obviously again know something we don't or are we guessing again? What do you think EZY are going to announce? NYC!!!!!!:} (sorry!!!)

MUFC_fan 6th Dec 2007 19:09

According to Airliners, EK's DXB-HAM-JFK will become just DXB-HAM from next summer so maybe the airline will want to launch DXB-NCL-JFK on an A332?

I'm sure the airline won't want to give up their slots at JFK!

Would EK be able to get the rights? If UK and UAE were able to go Open Skies, then it would certainly be possible from next summer!

Alot better airline and aircraft than B752/B767 of CO/AA/LS!

GW76 6th Dec 2007 20:26

Theres not a cat in hells chance that EK will route via NCL, let alone in their first year on the route.

HH6702 6th Dec 2007 22:02

cant say anymore at the minute but expect some more from EZY for summer 2008. there are still a few gaps in the programe.

GrahamK 6th Dec 2007 22:07

This EK DXB-NCL-JFK talk is nonsense. Let's try and get the figs up on the current NCL-DXB before jumping to another 2nd flight (90%+ loads needed before that would be considered IMO, currently just over 70%?)

As for EZY expansion, possible, but I wouldn' hold my breath.
S08 could see major consolidation

TCX aircraft summer 2008

There aircraft dont seem to be on the ground long.
There are plenty of flights leaving NCL at around 01:30 arriving back at around 08:00

Lets hope they dont overwork the 2 aircraft.
any delays and it will be very hard for them to get back on track.

fl dutchman 6th Dec 2007 23:18

I thought the MYT A320 ( possibly as a TCX aircraft) was still operating out of NCL in addition to the 2x TCX 757s next summer.
I note it is still operating as well as the TCX 757 during the winter despite rumours that it would not.

ConstantFlyer 6th Dec 2007 23:36

Can't imagine why EK would want to route a DXB-JFK service via NCL. More likely to choose somewhere like PRG or NCE, I would have thought.

Jamesair 6th Dec 2007 23:54

Has anyone noticed that in the December issue of the airport timetable the Cimber Copenhagen service goes 2 x daily from 31st March to 4th April, then reverts back again to 1 x daily

transwede 7th Dec 2007 07:45

Thomas Cook

Unfortunately TCX suffered quite a bad summer just gone with regards to delays, hopefully they will be able to improve next summer. Of course they are going to maximise the time the aircraft spends flying as it will result in greater profit.

The MYT A320 unit will not be based at NCL for S08. Their combined operation will be consolidated to 2 x 757 aircraft, though with a slight increase in the number of flights, primarily by having a couple of late night/v early morning departures. They will definately keep Servisair busy!

We wait with baited breath to see if and what EZY introduce????

Having read back postings on EK, I have to agree that we have about as much chance of gaining an EK connection to US as getting a daily A380 service! Having said that stranger things have happened and 70% load factor is not bad within the first 2-3 months of operation?!?

skyman771 7th Dec 2007 11:54

Theres not a cat in hells chance that EK will route via NCL, let alone in their first year on the route.
Glad to see we have at least one sensible poster :D:D& as eluded to by others, NCL westbound with EK is absolute b****cks !

deltahotel9 7th Dec 2007 13:44

I note it is still operating as well as the TCX 757 during the winter despite rumours that it would not
I think you will find the MYT flights are being operated by a TCX 757 for the winter i.e. there are 2 x TCX 757 and no MYT 320

airhumberside 7th Dec 2007 13:59

Slightly off topic, but is it NCL crew doing HUY-ACE/TFS since an aircraft positions in from NCL to do those flights every Wednesday night

Jamesair 7th Dec 2007 15:47

Easyjet has announced 6 new routes today...non of the six are for NCL but there are more to come in the next few weeks...fingers crossed.

Channex101 8th Dec 2007 19:07

MYT aircraft will pop in from time to time no doubt.
G-NIKO was in NCL the other weekend oping the Sat AM NCL-ALC-NCL.
Seen the crew, they all had MAN ID's on, but the aircraft positioned in from and back to LGW, this could be because most of the NCL crew are now rated on the TCX 757 so not sure if they can still operate on the A321.
So it has been seen in NCL, but the based A320 has now left, went first few days of Nov.

fl dutchman 8th Dec 2007 19:26

MYT

So who is opperating the MYT prefix flights from NCL? is it TCX 757s?.
