Affirm. Both 73's are QC's for the Night Time Royal Mail flights.

Should still be the same no's as for winter. Although, aircraft are swapped around bases so not always the same tail no.s.

One for ATC........

Heard a rumor formal SIDs and STARs will be appearing??????

What's happening with this? Departed to Palma at 07.53 but immediately did a tight circuit to land back?

FFC 2nd Jul 2008 14:29

Figures for July bookings on EK much better than May and June.
Business class full this weekend and next weekend. Apparantly alot of ex-pats escaping 50 degrees centigrade in DXB.

EGNT 2nd Jul 2008 15:34

@ SWBKCB - one of the pax had a suspected heart attack on the initial climbout, returned and landed and was met by an ambulance.

757 Speedbrakes 2nd Jul 2008 18:27

............... must of the seen the price of a meal deal :hmm:

EGNT 2nd Jul 2008 21:03

Seems that they're was a flaps problem with one of Jet2's arriving aircraft aswell, the crews were called out when it arrived at around 20:00.

Nothing new from Flybe for winter 08/09. I had hoped that the the boss would have announced something about expansion plans during his visit for the naming ceremony yesterday.

Only hope is that most of flybe's new routes from NCL have been announced later than the general timetable release.

Brussels

Just Noticed flybe will be operating brussels very soon on an evening. anyone have an idea which aircraft will cover this and if it is seasonal or year round.

mmeteesside 3rd Jul 2008 18:09

Believe it is a codeshare on the existing Brussels Airlines flights.

Anyone know what is happening about the runway resurfacing supposed to be taking the place this winter - and what is happening with the Farnair, Neptune and Channex freight flights?

Ops Guy 3rd Jul 2008 21:48

Runway resurfacing starts after christmas, not sure of the exact dates. I am yet to hear exactly what is happening to the mail and freight flights, although I would expect them to op out of MME for the duration of the works.:ok:

Channex101 3rd Jul 2008 23:18

not sure how that will work for jet2... aircraft is needed for pax ops during the day so would have to position to MME and back to operate flights, also NCL has all of the jet2 ground equipment for changing a/c from pax to cargo mode... guess we'll just have to wait and see!

Jamesair 3rd Jul 2008 23:23

mmeteesside

What freight flights does Neptune fly? is it the Bristol mailflight?

mmeteesside 4th Jul 2008 09:47

Yes Neptune 201/299 is the two (MNG) Fokker 27's that fly for Atlantic between NCL and BRS.

I too wondered how the Jet2's would work.

DTV Freight flights

According to my post office contact...all freight flights will operate from newcastle but back into DTV !!! Position out to Newcastle early morning after runway opens....not sure if we will have enough ATC staff to cover though?? we will see??

Jet 2 Mail FLights

Always wondered how the mail flights work? Do they take the seats out every night? Surely this must take ages?

HeathrowDictator 4th Jul 2008 21:54

They are quick change aircraft so I would imagine it is easy (and quick!), to convert them into freight, although not sure exactly what is involved though...anyone from EXS shed any light on how it is done?

_ShIfTy_ 4th Jul 2008 23:27

737QC (Quick Change) version with palletized seating allowed for faster configuration changes between cargo and passenger flights. The seats are in pallets of 10 rows are so. They exit the cargo hold into trailers stored on the golf apron.

Great skills by the jet 2 crew with only flap 15 available on thursday evening. No excessive breaking ment fire rescue quickly returned to base. Well apart from rescue two who went via stand 21 to hose down hundreds of bees that had decided to gather on a coaches front lights :ok:

EGNT 5th Jul 2008 00:25

Yeah, i heard about that LS flight the other night; taxied straight to stand.
Thumbs up to the crew :ok:

Ops Guy 5th Jul 2008 11:15

Surely this must take ages?
It takes approx 10-15 mins to get the seats out or in. ;)

757 Speedbrakes 5th Jul 2008 15:40

Faster than the pax!! :}
