Good News for Thomsonfly - the loads on the Longhaul Flights are going almost full every flight! Lets hope they remain full all season and the longhaul remains at NCL for good!

Well TOM are selling both CUN and SFB for next year, though not sure about PUJ? The Monarch flights also seem full, which is a sign that long haul charters are popular from NCL, I am still of the opinion that maybe a couple of winter long hauls would also prove popular among the regions travellers.

MAN and BLK don't have Monday rotations yet. Also, LPL is down to 4x weekly IIRC.

Don't think the whole FR GRO schedule has been released yet.

Rumours of PIA evaluating East Midlands or Newcastle to start OPs. Saw it mentioned on the PIA Thread.

Meaning it in the best possible taste - wouldn't East Mids have a better catchment of pax wishing to travel to pakistan?

I can save them the time EMA! small target market up here vs enormous potential in East Midlands from Nottingham & Leicester areas for starters. I must presume that PIA have got confused & mistaken NCL for LBA, as no doubt Shaheen has alerted them to the potential some 100 miles down the road.:ugh:

Whilst a second long haul scheduled route would be great for the airport and encourage other airlines that there is business at NCL, I must agree, NCL has a small (or smaller) population than the EMA area, including Nottingham, Derby etc. Lets not forget that UKIA once served EMA-ISB and loads were average for a new start up, so potential is there. I have always thought a weekly/bi-weekly service could possibly work, along with a low frequency TLV??

EMA/LBA definately before NCL.

Im sure that someone had said at the time of the EK starting ops from NCL rumours that PIA and NCL had been talking about a service.

Strange things have happened in the pasted maybe PIA have been watching the EK pax figures??

I'm struggling, :sad:ISB:sad: as an attractive hub for onward connections to where..!?, & hardly serious competition for DXB. I think we should let this one drop it's even more absurd than NYC!:E;)

That's one for the ATC boys and girls but I'd be suprised if they really were 'near misses'. It depends on how that artilce defines a near miss.

For me it would be a 'RA' - Resolution Advisory from TCAS. That is activated 20 -30 seconds from a potential collision and requires a climb / desent input from the pilot, in other words, avoiding action and would certainly warrent an ASR, Air Safety Report by the Pilot.

A 'TA' - Traffic Advisory, can often go off in CTA's, more commonly arround busier airports / airspace. For example if an aircraft above or below has a high rate of climb / descent but is safe because it has been cleared to a level below or above. Those only require a monitoring action from the pilot.

Appologies to all for the boring TCAS lecture! :ugh:

I'd like to say that I've found ATC at NCL very good and very friendly and in two years of flying in and out of NCL have never caused an issue. ( I still always end up a little high and fast coming onto LOC for 07! :rolleyes:)

Just read the reports.Two had nothing at all to do with newcastle...aircraft were with other radar units.

the other to be investigated through proper channels!!

Just come back from holiday.Flew out from NCL and everything worked perfectly. Good on site parking , good check ins, excellent slick and friendly security screening, despite the fact that 5/6 flights were leaving virtually at the same time.
On return it was just the same. Slight delay approx 10 mins at Immigration control but it gave time for the cases to be unloaded and onto the belt.
Can't see what the problems have been with security screening and Immigration Control. It all seemed to be working like clockwork.
Credit where credit is due especially to Security who acted as if they understood what they were doing and wanted to do it swiftly and with attention to detail.
PS would never fly TCX again. They must fly Snow White and her 7 friends all the time there was so little leg room and this was on a 757-200.

I havnt been up to the airport in a few weeks but when i flew down to Heathrow a few weeks ago it was still empty and boarded up. Has anything happened to this yet or is something going to happen?

I.e. removed and an made into a even larger seating space for Starbucks or turned into a new eating or retail outlet.
If it was going to be a new eating outlet i think possibly Subway as they have just opened a store in Liverpool Airport so i think it would work in Newcastle.
