Will essentially replace the Bratislave route which was axed last year. I believe that Bratislave and Vienna are the closest pair of European capital cities at just 40 miles apart.

Powerjet1 14th Jun 2007 17:33

Easy now have LTN-VIE in their booking engine wef 29/10/07. O/B LTN 1045, I/B LTN 1610. This route should do well.

toledoashley 14th Jun 2007 17:56

Have to say that I think it is slightly randam for easy to look at VIE. Same really as ZRH. What are we going to see next ARN/HEL/FRA?

Would love EZY to look at some Italian routes from LTN - Rome/Naples and Venice would be very nice, also PRG (I know TOM, but not goot times really) and even REY.

Buster the Bear 14th Jun 2007 21:26

So with no more B737-700's on order, which route is Vienna directly replacing?

Powerjet1 15th Jun 2007 04:58

Ryanair have increased LTN-DUB to 5 x daily on Tu/Th/Sa from 29 Oct, which seems to replace Brest for the winter period.

easy 15th Jun 2007 20:35

maybe it's from VIE to LTN? :E

LGS6753 15th Jun 2007 20:44

easy - unlikely to be VIE to LTN for two reasons - 1. timings, 2. no other destinations served from VIE.
So next winter will see Luton serving Vienna, Shannon, Chicago and Tirgu Mures.
When will Luton become the fifth UK airport to handle 10 million pax in a year?:ok:

King Pong 16th Jun 2007 06:18

Ryanair have increased LTN-DUB to 5 x daily on Tu/Th/Sa from 29 Oct, which seems to replace Brest for the winter period.
So Ryanair can't find a new Luton route for this aircraft and can only create over capacity on the Dublin route.

For those that are heading to Luton this weekend, the M1 is closed in both directions between junction 8-9 overnight Saturday. To compound the misery once passengers have found their way back onto the M1 at junction 9 they will find Junction 10 closed Northbound, which is closed from Friday night to Monday morning. Passengers will have to exit at Junction 11 and rejoin the M1 southbound and queue with the traffic that is having to exit at Junction 9.

No GA access to Luton last night

We had a last minute requirement to go to London last night, NO parking at Luton at all, no even possible to do a drop off, and reposition to Southend. Stansted also had an arrival ban. 01h00L......

What is happening to Luton, I know the overnight stands are full for the early departures, and there must be a big event in London, but no even a drop off, is bad news.....

Only a CL601, so not exactly blocking the apon for more than 1 hour.

Buster the Bear 16th Jun 2007 19:05

Will only get worse until more apron is laid?

LTNman 16th Jun 2007 21:17

Is it not the case that during the day executive jets can park on the hangar line but during the night those stands have to be vacated for night stoppers. Things should improve in November when Harrods move to their new apron which is allegedly 40% bigger than their existing apron.

Also heard that Netjets are going to be leasing a hanger at Cranfield.

It's not just a question of a lack of corporate ramp parking space but also (i) whether or not the two FBOs are able to provide the necessary staff to handle the aircraft and (ii) for certain hours of the day, whether or not there are available runway slots. As for actual parking, although a CL60 might appear to be relatively small, both FBOs' ramps are increasingly full up and the logistics required nowadays to ensure that corporate aircraft are parked in the correct order of priority for departure is something of a nightmare. Regrettably, the opportunity to just 'drop in' at Luton with minimal notice is for much of the day, gone.

And they're reverting to Signature for handling at Luton...

LTNman 17th Jun 2007 07:23

Luton more congested than Stansted?

Just had a look at the Online Coordination website for slot availability for the week commencing today.

At this moment in time Stansted is showing 25, one hour blocks where there are no slots available and 12 blocks with only one slot available. Luton is showing 30 blocks where there is no availability and 21 blocks with only 1 slot available. This time last year I did not see any full blocks for Luton.

And they're reverting to Signature for handling at Luton...
Interesting seeing that Signature is already more often full than Harrods and that Harrods is physically expanding at Luton while Signature is doing nothing.

Buster the Bear 17th Jun 2007 09:24

Netjets are to open a new engine service centre in the town of Luton and a new hangar at Cambridge. It also intends to double the number of pilots to well over 1000 world wide.

OLNEY 1 BRAVO 17th Jun 2007 19:10

If NetJets are going back to Signature at Luton it will only be the US operation. As I understand it, the European operation is staying with Harrods.

Photo of just one of the many Luton ramps devoted to business jets that are full to bursting point.

Obviously the Hungarian has not parked them as they are all facing the correct way!

I understand that there are well over 70 on the ground at any one time!

Increased frequency on the Wizz Poznan announced today.

So it looks like the rumours were true. LTN & MAN, 3 times weekly to Tel Aviv from 1 Nov 07.

CAP493 18th Jun 2007 15:09

Luton managed 410 movements on one day last week ~ and it remains in the UK # 5 position for movements. :ok:

pabely 18th Jun 2007 17:23

NetJets & Signature

According to the Signature Web site, it reads the agreement is with Netjets Europe - or is it just clever wording of flights ex US?
