German Air Force A310

Someone in the know told me that the biggest stairs in ORK, used for the A310 ,were 30cm to short but that when they told the Luftwaffe, they were ok with this.

Cork handled a whole range of widebodies on a regular basis since the early 1990's. This is a major step backwards if its true.

Nice to see Aerlingus are using the Airbridge regularly. They have 4 aircraft based here so there's no excuse for not installing a few extra ones now. The line that airlines don't want to use them no longer applies.

AMS ORK was cancelled last night. It showed up as departed ORK for AMS but AMS arrivals had it not arrived late last night . Did it divert and to where?

I expect it was tech somewhere as this morning there was a positioning flight of an A320 down to ORK , to op AGP I expect it was in place of tech 320 ?

Bad few days we've had, last Wednesday EI-DEK went tech in CDG with the flt cancelled and pax put on later CDG-DUB flights and then bussed to Cork. Thursdays schedule was delayed then with EI-DVH positioning down, EI-DEK and it's crew postioned to DUB later that morning also. The start of the Summer schedule yesterday saw, EI-DEE go tech after pushback headed for AMS as EIN84L, crew/pax swapped a/c to EI-DVH, EI-DEE then returned to service later that morning operating the AGP sectors delayed. That night EI-DVK went tech in AMS after arriving as EIN844, a/c is still there I believe, pax out on the early morning AMS-ORK/DUB services. As a result then EI-DEH had to position down from DUB this morning to operate once again delayed service to AGP, then it had to return to DUB as it has maintenance later this week, so EI-DEA postioned down this afternoon from DUB to operate delayed service from ORK to BRU and NCE today.

Hoping the rest of the week is better, ha!:)

Update to the above just up on the system now, DVK is positioning with the crew as EIN994 AMS-DUB.

The second rotation to LHR cancelled this morning?

fivejuliet 1st Apr 2014 12:12

I'd wager due to bad fog at LHR

Jack1985 1st Apr 2014 16:50

Fog at LHR below minima around 175 RVR at times!

Three flights cancelled in all;

EI711 LHR-ORK
EI712 ORK-LHR
EI713 LHR-ORK

DEC positioned down from DUB to look after the 714 to LHR.

Cork has published its Summer 2014 Schedule. Crete and Bodrum are the notable absentees. No mention either of the loss of Krakow and Warsaw to Shannon. Difficult to explain why the two charters aren't operating as they always seemed to do well.

EI-A330-300 7th Apr 2014 17:28

Thomas Cook operated them. You never know Falcon may produce a better progame for 2015 to pick up some of the slack.

bigjim99 7th Apr 2014 22:37

I see EI845 ended up in SNN tonight. Any idea why? Guess some tech issue?

cloudier 8th Apr 2014 13:17

brake problem

Jack1985 8th Apr 2014 13:36

Hydraulic problem which meant DVE had to be towed from the runway, SNN requested due to runway length.

Oldest in fleet now in Cork

As a result out of 29 airbus 320s Cork now has the oldest, second oldest, 5th and 7th oldest ones in the fleet based there surely they need to swap out either EI-CVA or EI-CVB?

fivejuliet 8th Apr 2014 18:22

For what reason? Aircraft swaps happen v. frequently in LHR and AMS.

Corkshamrock 8th Apr 2014 19:28

I know they change via AMS and LHR but AMS more than LHR, just think they need more care and with all the techs in recent days I just think a mixture of old and new is good. And i know the techs have been with newer A320s, would love to see EI-DVM make a return to Cork!

Jack1985 9th Apr 2014 00:19

As Fivejuliet has pointed out the a/c swaps are done in AMS (LHR not so regular although it does happen on rare occasions).

Not to be prudent but referring to individual a/c in the fleet as oldest? The oldest Airbus A320 is from 2000, 14 years? Nothing and how you're judging the technical status of each a/c by its age is well, nonsensical. By the way VA and VB are great birds as is the whole fleet, both just had heavy maintenance done during the winter (D-Checks).

Regards you wanting to see VM, I'll post when its in the system for a swap (be advised it might not be down for a few months).

ryan2000 9th Apr 2014 22:21

Cork said to be aggressively marketing the airport to 16 airlines at the Routes Europe Conference in Marseilles according to a report in tonight's Evening Echo!

840 9th Apr 2014 22:27

And yet they can't get anyone to operate flights to Marseille when they'd definitely be filled.

EI-A330-300 12th Apr 2014 15:37

Anyone know what loads have being like of EIRs new service to NCL?
