CEO of Cityjet kicked out??

So, CEO Mr G O'B White has left Cityjet for greener pastures.

Was he so satisfied with creating such an efficient ,harmonious and profitable company that there wasn't much else he could do to improve it?

Or was Air France so sick of him and his cronies with their snouts in the trough that he was kicked out?

What ever the truth, he left in a pretty big hurry!

New Cityjet CEO

So Cityjet has a new CEO, Ms Christine Ourmetiere. Hopefully she can turn the airline around. She's got a tough job though and moral is rock bottom but I think most are glad to see the end of the last CEO and want to work towards a profitable happy airline..

Where do CityJet now stand with VLM in the mix and the suckling 328s

max777 18th Sep 2010 22:02

cityjet a low cost airline

Cityjet is now doing flights for flybe what about the business plan.Flybe by cityjet and may be soon ryanair by cityjet.

FlyingTinCans 18th Sep 2010 22:10

Im sure somewhere in CityJets buisness plan it says something about making money, which they have been struggling to do for quite a while now, so while you dont seem to be very happy they have been offered well paid work, im sure the exec's and the employee's are :ugh:

daz211 18th Sep 2010 22:43

Why on earth would a major Airline like Ryanair (one of the largest in the world ) need any kind of help from Cityjet ?

IJM 18th Sep 2010 22:58

and may be soon ryanair by cityjet.
Do tell....

goldeneye 19th Sep 2010 14:29

Its just an Adhoc lease as and when flybe need extra capacity.

jpthomas72 20th Sep 2010 10:01

This is not obvious to people in the UK, but people in the area will be aware: Compare HHN-STN on Ryanair with LUX-LCY on Cityjet. Similar catchment area. If you don't mind the F50 (I do prefer a Q400), with the new German air-tax, it's not that far off anymore price-wise, esp booked weekends 2-4 weeks in advance. Remember: No Stansted Express, just Oystercard Zone 3. Sure, Cityjet is more comparable to FlyBE. They have free food though. Cityjet has more civilised flying times, I think Ryanair is neglecting the HHN-STN route, which is unwise. Also LUX is a very pretty new terminal, could be one of the winners of the German air tax.

I'm sure Cityjet are happy with revenue from subcharters to other opeators, certainly VLM were substantially into this market before the takeover, though I hadn't noticed how much of this work the F50 fleet do now, and Scot have always got quite a proportion of their revenue from charters and subcharters; sometimes one of the Cityjet liveried aircraft will be used, although they do try to use the ones still in their own livery, or the plain white one.

OpsSix 21st Sep 2010 07:46

I believe charters with VLM aircraft/crew are still a regular thing but then again I've also heard that CityJet is struggling somewhat with it's finances.

They've still got a great deal to learn.

Latest rumour :

Flybe purchasing 2 european regional airlines.

-AF/KLM willing to sell CityJet within the next few weeks.

Arrival of new CEO Christine Ourmières to negotiate the deal.

Apparently the CityJet brand will continue to exist in LCY.

-Second airline possibly in northern europe

I suppose it could be a logical move for flybe to takeover cityjet as it would boost the very scarce presence that flybe have and would probably want to have in ireland, but would give them a stronghold in London City and Dublin. If true it could be the best way forward for Cityjet:ok:

Business Plan PEARS and Business Plan APPLES. flybe as is today is not a good fit for LCY so quite what synergy such an acquisition would bring I don't know.

The good ol' Air Corps lads must be quaking in their hobnails. Gravy train reaching the terminus, at last?

Flybe to buy Cityjet

I'd put my mortgage on it folks, it's a sert. By the way, Flybe have a shed load of Emb 175's coming over the next 5 years, and that's what they'll use in and out of the City, for sure. Will feed everything, everywhere in the UK and Eire to CDG and AMS as a feed for all of AF/KLM's Longhaul operation.

As a betting man, my nasty dollars are on KLM City-hopper being the other company to be swallowed up by the Flybe war machine, I tell you just watch this space!!!

All waaay to much of a coincidence? Well, just watch this space (Me tinks Mr Embraer had better get more hands to the production pump)

T:suspect:

I believe it ends with "are soon parted." We shall see but be assured I want your house if you are wrong. Really. Buwahahahah!!!!!!

*cough*

Do you see the Dutch changing the KLM brand to flybe?
Would you like to join the queue as the business man in front at LCY moans about the small print in the baggage charges or has to find change to buy a sandwich on board. For the two markets you are talking about the flybe product is a bad fit which leave the option of winging it with three slightly different business models.

If they do bid then I honestly see them biting off more than they can chew. The only benefactor if they change the model at LCY is BA who also own shares in flybe!

Its a cert..

Simply a comment on the spelling rather than the outcome....
