Eastern Airways-3
(I have to point out this is a joke because it sounds completely plausible)

I feel sorry for Rishi. Going from a Titan Airways A320 to a bone shaking T3 TPE.331 turboprop.
And another E170 in today (Saturday) from Teeside at 1445 and then out to Amsterdam at 1710. Rumour is this one is a charter and is listed on the Airport's Arrivals and Departures screens which normally doesn't happen for the trainers. Listed as KLM but with Eastern call signs.
They seem to have a niche in the ACMI sector with the eJets plus the ATRs are seemingly kept busy too. The days of making easy money on thin routes for the OAG sector are over. A change of culture from the top and it could be a nice little business.

Return of ERJ’s
Eastern airways was a pretty profound ERJ operator up until about lockdown where they sold some off. Some however, they do own but leased them off to oil companies in Nigeria. The first of these has returned as 5N-BSM (G-CMGB) last night at Humberside. It is possible more will return. Not sure what their plans are, but these additions would add to an already complex fleet.
With the J41's not getting any younger some are over 30 years old, it doesn't surprise me that they are getting EJR's once again. At least a little bit of a capacity boost over a J41.

Just seen a recruitment advert on social media for Captains, First Officers and Cabin Crew to be based out of BRS; does anyone happen to know what route(s) they're due to be flying...?

ERJ’s aren’t much younger 😂. I think the great thing about the jetstreams is eastern owns them, the maintenance simulator etc so pretty low cost. They’re only using 5/6 but if they needed they have another 5 that could be activated.

KLM uk?
Hmmm interesting 🤔
So first Teeside and Humberside and now Bristol and Leeds...
After culling their entire UK base network and paying off the majority of their British Crew just a few years ago... Could it be KLC now feels outsourcing to a UK operator and removing the need to night stop their own crew all over the UK is the cheaper option and eases their own resource issues.
They have known issues recruiting and retaining staff for cityhopper and most crew transition to KLM mainline after a stint on regional.. which is why after the AirUk purchase, the UK base structure and recruitment continued for so long.
Almost gone full circle business strategy wise with this.

I have no idea how reliable the ABZ-WIC PSO service is, but the local paper reports frustration from people trying to use a "use it or lose it" service.
