No flight only options? I fancy a few days in Jersey

Prefer to make my own hotel choices, I like the purple hotel chain...think Lenny Henry

I imagine that the flights will open to normal bookings later in the year.

Can't say Lenny Henry's favourite chain my hotel of choice for a holiday though!

Rooms are fine, restaurants attached are decidedly average!

They're there for people who can't be bothered or won't risk leaving the hotel.

Jet2 / TUI

Two new routes for next summer, Mytilene (x1 weekly) and Tivat (up to x2 weekly peak summer) plus a few increases on some other destinations. With Ryanair adding Seville and Valencia it’s nice to see some slightly obscure routes being added. With the addition of Mytilene it now leaves Mykonos as the glaring omission in the Greek network.

Elswehere TUI reintroduce La Romana for Winter 24/5 - x1 weekly from Christmas Eve.

In the near future even more impressive from Jet2, one day after aircraft 14 was added, aircraft 15 was added today (33 flights) and from the first week in August aircraft 16 appears to be based Friday (possibly Thursday) - Monday which I presume is the spare being used in the morning for a few weeks. Extra Split Thursday morning, Zante Friday morning, Rhodes Saturday morning, Ibiza Saturday evening and Sunday & Monday morning Palma. The latter will have 4 Palma flights for a few weeks

Some of the increases next summer

Catania increases next summer from 25 May to 2 per week (We & Sa)

Kalamata inceeases next summer from 29 May to 2 per week (We & Su)

Thessalonki and Chania start at 2 per week rather than just high summer - the former from April

Split shows an increase to 3 per week this year from Thursday 3rd August and then next year from the end of May (Tu/Th/Su)

Paphos increases to 5 per week from May next year

Nice restarts from 11 March twice a week

Alicante - extra Tuesday from end of May

Almeria - increases from 23 May 24 to 3 per week (Tu/Th/Sa)

Reus - 3 to 4 weekly high summer 24

Krakow, Budapest & Prague next summer operate longer ending 15/7 restarting 6/9 same

Probably more increases but Jet2 don't like me checking their website for more than 15 minutes and I get access denied (not on the App) after about 20 or 30 searches which I believe will be to stop green-scrapers. Not great to deter people booking although they didn't lose my business because of that but despite offering 6 per week Corfu they don't offer Paxos so another company got my money. I suspect lack of accommodation is the problem on Paxos not Jet2's unwillingness to offer it but a great Greek choice in general.

It's possible that the extra frame is the one that is removed from Edinburgh around now, it comes back in September. We're coming to the end of the holiday period in Scotland.
Actually I've realised that 2 are transferred- there seem to be only 4 Jet2 flights out of EDI tomorrow morning.

Surprised to see BHX not included on the new TUI W24 destination Luxor from LGW and MAN seems a bit odd.

Luxor was operated way back by Thomson I think using a 767. Maybe BHX will be added once they've trialled a season from MAN and LGW?

Am also surprised that Goa is not operated from BHX, along with Banjul

Don't understand. I was observing that Jet2 has removed 2 frames from EDI to cover the English peak holiday season; I don't know to which other Jet2 bases they are sent, but BHX is a possibility. The same has happened in previous years and the frames return at the start of September.

Dontcha just love the clumsy 'spin' by Unite as to why there'll be no refuellers working at BHX.
Pathetic.

Aren't there 3 Fuel suppliers, Shell, Valero (Texaco) and World Fuel Services, surely it is quiet easy to get delivery from a different supplier? I assume a Aviation Fuel Tanker driver is quiet well paid so don't know where the Union are going with this, these are not minimum wage or zero hours guys.
Menzies could quiet easily close the fuel operation down if this is just from the on site storage facilities run by someone else to plane, but I am willing to be corrected.
The airport is saying contingency is in place anyhow.

So that's OK then. Presumably they aren't minimum wage for a reason, and want to stay that way and not allow their worth to be eroded.

The strike is on rejection of a 9% pay offer which has been improved to 11.5% so why not re-vote first, especially as negotiating is on going?
