As airports go it is very quiet .
Little or no pax growth .
Zero cargo . I recall there used to be at least weekly ( maybe more - perhaps someone more up on this can confirm. ...).
An Icelandair 757 Carrying Fish?. Found this odd given the proximity to Grimsby .
But also there I'm sure used to be Ryanair heading west on takeoff . I was down that way visiting family close to DSA
A Very low flying 737 Was taking off from HUY But was still low enough to make out colours and Airline etc.!.
Also it was owned by MAG now isn't it owned by Eastern and North lincs council ?.
If Eastern get taken over by Flybe or Stobart might there be more Domestic flights?.

Humberside, what charters it does have, seem to generally do quite well - In Summer 18 though, only regular charters will be TUI to Palma, and Balkan to Bougras, plus a weekly Flybe to Jersey. The Jetxtra departures to Alicante operated by BA Cityflyer have been canned this year though.
Ryanair have tried HUY a couple of times, with a Daily Dublin in the mid 00s' which didnt do very well (aircraft too large!), and a twice weekly Alicante, which appeared to do OK until Ryanair and Alicante airport had a dispute, and the route was dropped and never returned.
KLM to Amsterdam continues to do quite well, Eastern to Aberdeen did well up until a couple of years ago when the oil price fell, now it seems to be treading water, as many other Aberdeen routes seem to be doing.

Balkan have increased the service to 2x weekly from Bourgas for S19, and Eurowings are to start the Palma service in S19 as Tui are ending it in October.
The Eurowings IS for TUI Holidays. The airline TUI don't operate anything in their own right - they operate where TUI Holidays tell them to operate. All this is is a change of airline for the charterand probably a reduction in size from a B738 to a A319 - 40 fewer seats a week to fill

Summer 2019 Update
TUI service to PMI for S19 to be operated now by Air Europa as opposed to Eurowings with new times being a 12:10 arrival and 13:00 departure each Tuesday. TUI will then operate it for a brief spell during October 2019 with their ABZ based aircraft. Puts a bit of seat capacity back in with an upgrade back up to a B738 through the season.
Loganair also to take on the weekly Saturday run to Jersey from Flybe. Now a 13:55 arrival with a 14:35 departure.
Balkan Holidays still set to increase to 2x weekly moving to Thursday and Sunday services. 08:00 arrival, 09:00 departure on Thursdays and a 07:30 arrival, 08:30 departure each Sunday.
Perhaps an overall increase in passenger traffic for 2019? - Apart from negligible increases in 2013 and 2014, would be the first increase since 2006.

Sorry for the very late reply but I don't believe any buses run to Humberside at that time, I don't think any buses run on Sunday either, So taxis and your own car are the only option.
Apologies if this is old news, but Eastern to fly 3x weekly to/from Esbjerg in Denmark from 14 December 2022. Public scheduled flights, not wind-industry-only private charters

The new Humberside-Esbjerg route begins tomorrow.
Eastern with a J41 on a 1h50 route is likely to need some high fares to make the route profitable.
EBJ-HUY tomorrow is priced at £86 oneway, while on all other dates, the entry fare of £86 (ie 99.99 euros) seems available on all other dates
HUY-EBJ is £120 oneway tomorrow and £100 on all other dates.
Oneway fares go up about £6 for all dates from early April.
Fares mentioned above are for a no-change no-refund oneway but do include cabin and hold baggage.
These fares are somewhat lower than the (significantly shorter) Humberside-Aberdeen route which makes me wonder about demand on the Humberside-Esbjerg route. Fares on the Aberdeen-Esbjerg route look more robust. Yes, I know routes need time to mature, but Eastern will want to see reasonably encouraging signs before long.
Does anyone have any data on demand on HUY-EBJ to suggest the route will last ? I am hoping this route will not resemble Flybe's Norwich-DeKooy route

NQY has done surprisingly well this year, nothing to suggest Esbjerg won’t given the industry support for it. Think it’s a bit to early to do an armchair analysis of the situation.
And remember the J.41's cost them b*gger all years ago - not like they've got big finance costs to pay back on them. Would imagine they don't need much to make a profit.
Might almost be a corporate shuttle with the spare seats being sold type of operation.

Another announcement tomorrow apparently, to be made via Humberside Airport Travel. Not a clue what but perhaps some more much needed bucket and spade flights.
