Smile Thank you!

Oh thank you kcockayne. I absolutely love Jersey, and try and visit at least twice a year. Looking forward to seeing what a B738 landing and take off feels like there EEEK!! Very firm braking and reverse thrust, then a nice full power, brake release take off probably. We like to stay at the wonderful Dolphin hotel in Gorey, a wonderful atmosphere and welcome. Much like the rest of the island too. Cheers!

Also curious of the evidence of vaccine efficacy. The worlds largest medical journal has stated at best a 0.8-1.3% chance of reducing infection of the "virus". So when you can still get it, transmit it and still due from it (most people dying with it in the UK now have received both doses)... then why alienate those that haven't had it? Or are we bringing the Nazi regime so hated on the island back in full swing ?

The Jersey government website states they accept a government issued vaccination card is acceptable evidence of travelling from within the common travel area.

Thoughtful comment. The points made are worthy of investigation. Many have no idea that the Covid-19 vaccines only have emergency authorization and are still a black triangle form of treatment. HMG's own MHRA Yellow Card data reveals over 1,200 deaths have been reported since vaccination. MHRA have stated that the Yellow Card system only represents about 10% of adverse reactions. Such data is not easily accessible. We are invariably told that sudden and unexpected deaths following vaccination cannot be proved to be related to the vaccine. However, if someone tests positive for Covid-19 and dies, the death is counted as a Covid death - even though the PCR test is known to produce a high percentage of false positives. There is far more going on than a virus and a vaccine. Anyone interested ought to do their own research by looking at Government data and reading materials produced by The World Economic Forum for a start. Start joining the dots, see where the money trail leads, and you will soon have some important questions. (Of course, the thought-controllers tell us simply to believe them and not do any research.)

Just to be clear, I was merely asking about what evidence of vaccination required by the the Jersey authorities. I've no truck with conspiracy theories.

With the benefit of hindsight, it was always suspicious that they planned to use the 321 as a first choice a/c on these two routes, rather than the smaller 320 (using the larger a/c if demand justified). I suppose that in the current situation , they had a 321 spare at Doncaster (rather than a 320) & , rather optimistically, decided to use it to Jersey, in the absence of other routes, in the knowledge that it would be weight restricted : & that there was not really the pax demand. Nevertheless, embarrassingly quick to abandon the routes !

As I understand it, SWBKCB, you are tested on arrival (free). If you are double vaccinated, that is the end of the story. If you are not, you have to isolate until you get a negative result ; usually less than 24Hrs. However, opening up to the outside world & letting anyone in is not improving the situation. We have approaching one thousand five hundred cases ( five in hospital) now; this has grown from practically zero in less than a month. Standby for Authority Panic Mode ! The other problem is that the testing regime is approaching chaos & may not be able to cope with the demand for tests, brought about by the rapid increase in cases.

I was surprised to see them announce that as the new regime for entry, certainly this quickly. I (not double vaccinated) was intending to travel to Jersey this weekend just gone, which became impractical when the whole of England went on the red list and thus required isolation until day 10.

Yes, as I said, standby for “Authority Panic Mode”. They are doing their best, but their best is simply not good enough - & I don’t mean that as a criticism. They contained Covid extremely well (not as well as Guernsey) & they are now trying to get us back to normality. But, with this virus, “give it an inch & it will take a mile”. Who knows what will happen !

The next thing will be having to show proof you can drive, with. Government issued license, before you can pick up your hire car. Or prove your age before you can order a drink in a bar. Or show ID before boarding a flight. Where will it all end?

7 Easyjet flights into JER this morning (from LGW, MAN, GLA, LPL), which seems a lot for this time of year - something special going on on the island?

A light aircraft overran the end of the runway causing a closure the evening before, then the fog came in !! hence, a morning catch up on schedules.

Thanks, not quite sure what "bolting off the runway" is though! Looks to be not too badly damaged.
