Jersey-3

Wow, three years without a post in the Jersey thread?

Anyway: Euroings will offer a weekly TXL flight in addition to DUS, STR and HAM this year. MUC is covered by Lufthansa Cityline, so five German destinations in 2018. Wikipeadia also shows BE on JER-DUS, but there is nothing bookable on flybe proper, so apparently "fake news".

GLIDERMAN 21st Feb 2018 12:16

I did hear on the local radio station a little while ago that EZY Luton to Jersey is going to be year round, instead of seasonal.

I had not realised that Eurowings was recommencing flights to Berlin and Stuttgart. It is good to see their return. Both flights will be operated by the Q400.

Düsseldorf is an A319 on Saturdays from March to September. There is also a flight on Wednesdays, which is a new addition. Hamburg was announced last year as well, which has not operated in about five years, so I am pleased to see its return.

Other than that, as in previous years, there are a few charter flights from Vienna operated by Austrian between May and June, and charters from various points in Germany through the tour operator Globalis from April to June, flown by Germania. SkyWork returns from Bern between May and October, but the Basel stopover is dropped this year. Zurich is flown by Blue Islands/Flybe. as a charter flight.

The only other new route that has been announced is the twice weekly easyJet flights to Edinburgh, starting at the end of Maarch.

On the holiday charter side flights to Tenerife this winter are being operated by Germania A319 instead of Volotea
In the summer charter flights to Palma are being operated for the first time by Air Europa E195 aircraft

Looks like quite an impressive new development around the terminal area with details showing on there web site

We recently flew into and out of Jersey airport....what a joy....no queues ....good view of the airport from upstairs....helpful staff....who traced our taxi

Only complaint....we never did find the business lounge even though it had a sign pointing an arrow to nowhere.

tibbs87 5th Jul 2018 09:25

There's info on the jersey airport website about the executive lounge and where it is located in the terminal :) Executive lounges

Obviously managed to avoid the frequent 17:00 rush periods where G4S decide it’s appropriate to have only one scanner and archway in operation then...

Don’t hear much about Jersey on here but noticed that Germania was due to operate the regular winter charters to Tenerife starting this Saturday using an A319

However with the collapse of the carrier the local travel operator has managed source Smart Wings using a B 738 to fly the route on a Monday
Quite a large jet to operate from the island , with a restrictive passenger load of the original A319 it should make it in one go

Chris_747 6th Feb 2019 22:00

Having been in that situation when a carrier has gone bust leaving you with a mess to resolve, I don't envy the tour operator right now!

That's a lot of hotels to change, providing they have availability to do a change too, no doubt some customers will cancel due to the change of the day and their work commitments etc, always ends up costing the tour operator a fair chunk, nasty!

I see BA have cancelled all their LGW flights for April

What air links are left for Jersey during this time?

champair79 28th Mar 2020 23:35

Reasonably confident you’ll have one to the capital again very shortly....but it won’t be LGW.

bmaviscount 29th Mar 2020 06:07

See today there is one Blue islands to Southampton as the only movement

Guernsey has one Gatwick and 2 Southamptons (SI and GR)!

Wycombe 29th Mar 2020 09:26

Sorry that's incorrect, it's AUR only between GCI and SOU for the time being. Statement below is from the BCI website dated 20/03:

All scheduled flights to and from Guernsey will cease from today and resume at a future date to be confirmed. Blue Islands is standing by to resume services when deemed appropriate, continued updates here and via our social media channels.

salt cay 29th Mar 2020 09:28

I think there is an error on the Guernsey airport website about the SI Southampton as Guernsey airport close today at 1745.

Blue Islands are doing the only passenger service out of Jersey which will be the Southampton once daily. Freighter aircraft as normal.

British Airways have suspend the LGW service till the end of April for now.

Altostratus 29th Mar 2020 12:37

Worrying times

EI-BUD 6th Jul 2020 23:17

There is a 14 day quarantine on arrival to Jersey but is there any clarity on when this requirement is set to end? I've looked on the airport website but can't see anything specific or has no date been set for removal of this restriction?

kar42 7th Jul 2020 08:28

Jersey travel details.

https://www.gov.je/Health/Coronaviru....aspx#anchor-1

The full page has all the details but basically, test on arrival and isolate if positive.

Jamesair1 7th Jul 2020 15:38

There will be a daily flight from LHR with BA

bmaviscount 7th Jul 2020 21:37

They released the borders last Friday

You have to have a test on arrival

BA have started a daily flight as have easyjet

So far Blue Islands still have the life line Southampton single daily ; they have yet to release an expanded schedule
