That is good news. Let’s hope that the demand is there to support them. I notice that they will be up against EZY from Manchester & BCI from East Mids. That might have an impact on one of the operators.

Don't know the performance of the A321 but Jersey's short landing distance could be a challenge, so maybe the A320 is a better fit.

Wizz are likely looking for anywhere where they can operate flights to with the UK Gov going ultra-conservative on European destinations.

I'm sure there will be performance limitations, but A321s have been to Jersey before. Clearly these planes are going to be coming in/ going out pretty light too. Cardiff is just 150 miles away/ DSA 300 miles away.

Looks like the aircraft will do DSA-JER-CWL-JER-DSA on both weekly rotations.

Yes, A321s have been into Jersey before , EIN & MON come to mind: & maybe BMA. But, I think that you can count the number of visits on the fingers of both hands. The last visit was quite a while ago. Cardiff & Doncaster are both fairly close & , maybe, there will be no performance issues, although, WZZ seem to be pretty optimistic about the demand ! 320s would appear to be a better fit, looking at it from my viewpoint. I am not an expert. It will be good to see the A321 four times a week, & nice to see WZZ, too. Let's hope it will be a success.

Jet2 increasing capacity on the 3+ weekly LBA - JER route from June 24th. It was scheduled to be operated by B733 this summer, but will now be operated by B738.

Is not the performance of the 738 worse than a A321 so Wizz should have no problem with light fuel?

I think you are correct, pabely. 738s have operated into Jersey on many occasions in the past, mostly with performance limitations. Does anyone know when Jet2 are starting the 6 services quoted above ? It was supposed to be 22 May, but I have not seen any yet.

More good news, occasioned by Covid, perhaps, although not for Blue Island (Birmingham & Bristol). Newcastle is a resumption of, what was, an existing route. Any room for EZY in Guernsey ? I have not been optimistic at the prospect of them operating there but, who knows ; if the runway is long enough, could we see them operating “staycation” flights ? Even less good news for AUR, if they did !

From Tuesday 29 June, England as a nation will be reclassified as Red due to rising COVID-19 case rates. Until this time, England remains Green with emergency brakes in place

England might be back on the red list but you fail to mention that anyone who has had 2 vaccinations (that's nearly 50% of the adult population in England and counting) a minimum of 2 weeks before they arrive is very welcome to visit Jersey as long as they are tested on arrival and isolate until they receive the result - on average that takes around 12 hours.

I don't think this will put that many eligible visitirs from taking a trip, I'm.certainky looking forward to my visit at the end of July.

Smile Evidence of Vaccination

Hi SWBKCB

They accept for instance the NHS app as the information is on there, or like what we did a few weeks ago, and actually print off an official certificate that you can download from the NHS App. They also accept any sort of official document from say a doctors surgery or medical establishment. The full list is on gov.je, but they don't accept your little vaccination cards unfortunately. It makes things relatively easy though compared to the continent, and that is why I am going back there in 3 x weeks time using the new Jet 2 flight from NCL
