The Abu Dhabi Development Holding Company has announced a joint tentative agreement with Wizz to start a low cost airline using Airbus A321s which it hopes to commence operations in the second half of 2020, allowing it to operate low cost flights from Abu Dhabi to Europe and beyond.

Can't believe how cheap some of their flights are(with no extras).
Booked contingency flights from Larnaca 2 weeks ago,one way to Luton as there was a possibility we may have had to return early from our trip. £34 for both, National Express Lut-Stn(where car is parked)was going to be £40!

I can see Yerevan to VIE and VNO starting 20th March in their booking engine.

Anyone heard about their proposed launch of flights to Minsk in summer 2020?

Hello,

Im wondering, and i hope maybe someone can shed some light on this. Not even sure this is the right place to ask.
Wizzair used to fly from Copenhagen directly to Varna. However im booking flights for my summer vacation, and i cant seem to find their flights. Ive tried to find some information about it but cant seem to find anything. There is also no way to contact them outside of calling, which im not about to pay a minute rate for.

Would appreciate any info regarding this.
Thanks in advance

VAR-CPH was very quietly cancelled in late November and it will not return next summer. Wizz will use the freed VAR capacity to fly a W pattern from SXF.

For future reference, you can also contact Wizz on Facebook/Twitter.

End of subsidies by Fraport (€ 2 to 14 per passenger) which reached after 3 years of operation for a new airline (Wizz launched FRA in May 2017).

Other cancellations in Germany:

CLJ-CGN
OTP-HAJ
IAS-SXF

I would have thought fairly obvious Nikkie the routes are not making money or very little money which could mean end of subsidies, competition etc. Move on and try somewhere else.

What was the point in starting new routes at FRA if they didnt intend to stay after the end of the discounts? Wasnt the whole point to provide an alternative to legacy carriers, which are supposedly more expensive,by establishing a solid year-round network of destinations from central and eastern europe?

It seems more than almost anywhere else low-cost hasn't worked in Germany they way it has in many parts of Europe.
