AirlineRoute is not confirmation - the account is not an official spokesperson for new routes - just a blogger with a website. There is no difference from other people announcing the exact same (as I and others did) based on British Airways taking flights off their website (all public). Official confirmation is when it comes from British Airways directly - everybody else's "confirmation" is just repeating what the airline has said or done.
For instance, I got my information from the British Airways website - is this any less "confirmation"?

Also, I post my own work only - not claiming to be official or anything like that. Just as I find it I share it.
Please can you not be so rude in future comments as did not attack Aksai with my comment - just pointed it out as it was stated in this forum yesterday

Keep posting SeanM1997. Some of us appreciate the route updates you provide here and on the far from pointless Twitter account.
As you say it’s public information but it’s nice having someone pull it all together in a timely concise way.

My only adage would be: Be careful with stating something as fact, when unsure of its status or confirmation from the airline.

There is no need to spit your dummy out.
The key point being that BA will have suspended LGW short haul til they have a view on the likely market next summer. The fleet is already down by 28 B744s and 12 A380s with no flying undertaken by the A321CEO fleet whatsoever. Given Winter is likely to be a bloodbath, I am not convinced they'll be back next summer. If LHR reinstates the 80/20 slot usage role for the summer then as much of BA's London program as possible will be at LHR protecting slots. Given BA will be 20-30% smaller going forward, they really do need to protect market share at home base as the likes of Westjet and others grab the slots that come up. If BA did not use 10% of their existing LHR slots, Wizz and easyJet would bid for them IMHO.
Hence LGW becomes a side issue and LGW slots are almost worthless in the current market. I expect the whole G-GAT* A320 fleet to exit formally soon.

Airline routes/RoutesOnline
For the record, Airlineroutes/RoutesOnline is not “a blogger with a website”. It’s part of a highly professional and reputable company which (among other things) has been organising global route development conferences for the past 25 years. It’s internationally respected and has carved out a leadership position in the business of connecting airports and airlines.
Its data sources include paid/privileged access to GDS systems, so it is normally the first to pick up on schedule changes. Often before an airline will communicate with individual customers (particularly BA, whose IT systems are especially ropey).
I have no axe to grind on this (I’m not connected with the company) but I have worked in the industry for 40 years and I can vouch for their professionalism.

You might be surprised to hear Rwanda was one of the very few non-European countries allowing in tourists without restriction. Although you would need to quarantine to come back again. It’s a little niche but has some market, gorilla tours for example

Another airline hoping to move to Heathrow as Jazeera have applied for slots. Rwandair, WestJet & China Airlines are going or gone, and it doesn't leave much left apart from LCCs like Wizz & Vueling.
The South Terminal will probably be closed until Summer 2022 at the earliest at this rate.

Heathrow slots will open up. BA are down 20+ B747s and 12 A380s at a minimum for next summer and that's before the narrow body cuts. I would be shocked if WestJet and RwandAir couldn't get the required slots. Looks like JetBlue is going into LHR too.
