Good choice of new routes from TXL as most of them were missing (neither TXL or SXF) or were flown before by AB or do not see a real low cost competitor in TXL:
Alicante 2/7 June, 5/7 August
Ancona 2/7 August
Belgrade 3/7 August, 4/7 September
Biarritz 2/7 August
Brindisi 2/7 July, 3/7 August, 4/7 September
Cagliari 3/7 August
Cologne 33/7 June (EW several times a day from TXL; FR up to 5 daily from SXF)
Corfu 2/7 August
Faro 3/7 August
Genoa 2/7 August
Gothenborg daily August
Granada 2/7 September
Graz 3/7 August
Jerez 2/7 June
Kefalonia 2/7 August
Ljubljana 3/7 August
Menorca 1/7 August, 3/7 September
Montpellier 3/7 August
Naples daily August
Nice 2/7 July
Oslo daily August (DY double daily from SXF)
Paphos 1/7 March, 2/7 August
Pula 3/7 August
MUC increased to 9 daily on weekdays
PMI increased to 5 daily, on weekends 6 daily
TXL-CDG (double daily) cancelled + CTA (4 weekly) & TLV (3 weekly) to be reduced from each daily starting summer.

Apparently I've been on a 'NEO' already - a Lufthansa example. Did I notice? No, it took an aviation enthusiast colleague to point it out to me. Did I care? No.
Does 99-9% of the population care? - I doubt it.
In the case of Easyjet, people will just give it a casual look:
2 wings - check
engine on each - check
set of wheels - check
orange ninja bandero colour scheme - check
Yup - that's our plane.
Only the geekiest of plane-spotters would even be able to tell the difference.

Whilst I agree in part, any news coverage will no doubt take the environmental credential angle and the fact that it’s is noticably quieter for passengers. The 787, despite its initial unconventional design in it’s concept stage, doesn’t look too radically different to the untrained eye and thanks to the Dreamliner tag, it enjoyed a lot of publicity.
But to be fair, many of your average passengers do take an interest and will ask what NEO stands for.
A bit of free promotion maybe but it’s the type of story that is covered week in week out by the local press.

Biggest non event of the year so far.
It's an A320 with a different engine - end of.
A320 NEOs have been flying in and out of MAN for months, if not longer. Almost as bad as Ryanair getting free publicity out of nothing.
A320 NEOs have been flying for over 2 years with Lufthansa.
Are we to have a press conference every time a new variant of an old design turns up?
The Dreamliner did indeed enjoy a lot of publicity- but not for it's environmental reasons.
A more newsworthy story would be the reason why so many "Dreamliners" are currently parked up engineless.
With EZY's current focus on the TXL takeover of Air Berlin routes it's not surprising UK expansion is limited. If there is expansion for S18 at MAN why would you not utilise the conference you just arranged? I suspect there is some backtracking going on at Orange HQ.

Why the negativity lets wait and see shall we, the Jet2 move won`t have just been done for the fun of it and if there was no major expansion in T1 they would have moved at all

getting free publicity out of nothing.

Considering the hype & razz ma tazz that goes on with the 'unveiling' of a new F1 car; and wow, it looks just like last years unless you are an anorak. Lots of free bubbly no-one cries about that. Now if easy jet had obtained the services of Eric Morecambe's son, whose father was steeped in Luton nostalgia, and presumably some foolhardiness, to rip off the dust cover of EJ's new livery a few months ago, then we really would have story.
