I doubt that Brussels Airlines will return to BHD using their own metal, but honestly I'm disappointed that BHD management were unable to get bmi Regional to take over the route and codeshare with SN. BM already operate flights to BRU (which is a BM base) from BRS, EMA and NCL, all of which carry SN codeshares. Surely a similar arrangement could have been made for BHD.

The investment company that bought BHD would not invest £15 million plus on the airport if they did not think they woukd get a good return. I suspect that there will be some kind of route news but in what form and when as this is Pprune and not the BHD board room we will as always have to wait and see. In fact to quote a work colleague " when our tug n tow bar is attatched then I will believe the rumours" Sage advice I think to ponder on.

It's actually BFS who replied but in fact there probably is a lot of truth, they wouldn't know/comment although it is a rather firm denial on their behalf. I'd remind everyone where this story came from, the same poster stated IAG won't be operating BHD-LHR soon, I think this is more fantasy airport management than rumours with any substance.
The jetsgo offer for free parking has been running for quite some time now.

If KLM move to BFS then we would expect any other potential Air France/KLM Group routes and airlines to be operated from BFS as well. That would include Air France, Joon, Transavia and Transavia France. However, it would not necessarily mean that all Skyteam airlines would choose BFS over BHD. There is no need for airlines in the same alliance to operate to the same Belfast airport, because no one would be connecting between Skyteam services in Belfast. Also worth noting, when Brussels Airlines commenced BRU-BHD back in 2016, fellow Star Alliance member United was operating from BFS.

I didn't say that other Air France/KLM airlines would commence operations from Belfast. I said that if other Air France/KLM airlines were to fly to Belfast, they would operate from the same airport as KLM.

I would imagine it would be every summer, thats if EI keeps the sun routes. Will be a similar operation to the 767 in shannon that was used for a few seasons.

If that's the case then I don't think Aer Lingus will make it until the end of the decade at BHD, never mind reach their 10th anniversary! Surely there is no economic case for operating such a small base.
With the obligation to continue to feed Star Alliance carriers ex LHR for however long, can’t see anything drastic occuring near term. When that obligation disappears and EI are fully integrated into the TATL JV and Oneworld, then I would think it would make more sense for either them or BA to take on the other’s ops in the airport financially, if not politically.

Honestly, im surprised they're still at BHD, let alone still operating the sun routes. When they operated the 767 from SNN it damaged their reputation quite a bit and drove people to fly from dublin however theyre back to regular 757 operations now. Seems as if theyre trying to run down the sun routes so it gives them an excuse to pull out

Are you asking will they use ASL in 2019?
If so, any answer that's given is complete speculation. Quite frankly nobody knows, not even Aer Lingus. You'd be going several months down the road to find out whether this contract is renewed.

The Omni 767 had American crew with poor service. The whole service was the worst on the EI long haul Network and quickly became known as such.
The ASL 737 has become known as reliable despite it's age with cheerful Irish crew on board. One would notice no difference in service between an EI A320 and this 737.
So I'd advise you to be careful what you say, as it can be taken as defamatory, despite you talking out your arse.
