I'd like to see them back that up with a comparison of employee numbers over the last 3 years, I think that would reveal the truth about being the "fastest growing."

I still predict Eastern will be bought out Probably by Flybe or Stobart .
Unless one of the LOCOS decides they want to branch out to prop routes lol .

What is worth buying, a fleet of geriatric and long since out of production turboprops of little value and some routes that are so profitable that Eastern finds itself in the mess it does?

Eastern Airways folded in the 1980's, don't you mean Air Kilroe?

I suggest you look at Companies House and not Wikipedia. The AOC is indeed Air Kilroe trading as Eastern Airways but there are a number of other trading entities as Eastern Airways (UK, Europe, International) and it is under one of those that the airport ownership sits today, regardless of whatever happened in the 1980s which really isn't relevant.

If anything its more likely to be bought by the group that own BMI Regional & Loganair. I know Stobart have ambitions to become a big player in the UK & Europe regional airline market, but buying airlines with a spread fleet, slim margin routes doesn't seem like the way to go, which is why they probably pulled out of buying Flybe once they got to look at the books. Eastern(Air Kilroe) had a good opportunity when it purchased Air Southwest to give it a new lease of life either moving the main hub to Newquay or Bristol but instead it focused on shutting down and cashing every penny it could get after owning it for only 13 months, I think clearly shows what kind of business model Air Kilroe have.

Belly Up?

A friend of mine is thinking of applying for Cabin Crew with EA....is that a wise move, or is the whole thing going to go belly up in the near future?

Crystal Balls

I just wanted to get a few opinions. Maybe I should have worded my post differently so as not to attract Mr Angry et al. Happy Easter x

Yes perhaps you should have done, then perhaps ''Mr Angry'' wouldn't have replied in the way that he did!

Angry!

Point taken Mr A, now go have a creme egg and calm down.
Anyway, if there's anyone who'd like to give a civilized answer to my post regarding employment with EA I'd love to hear your views.

Canberra does has a point though. Most on here wouldn’t know whether it will or not. Tell your friend to go for it. No point in worrying about something that doesn’t happen.

A lot of crew contracts are fixed term for the first season so same thing there really will I have a job won’t I?

Assume this will allow BE to close their ABZ base (if it even is a base anymore!)
