Still a very good showing for STN up against 2 of the traditional 3 there.

And as was imagined the most operators!..who would have thought it.

There is no denying MAG has been a blessing for STN. Very powerful duo of airports now.

Agreed & agreed.

With the stats added together (or even separately) they form & portray a formidable operator.

Top 3:
Gatwick 65 weekly flights 5 airlines (MT/D8/TUI/EZY/BA)
Stansted 51 weekly flights airlines 7 (PF/EZY/RYR/LS/BA/MT/TUI)
Manchester 69 weekly flights 6 airlines (BA/RYR/EZY/TUI/MT/LS)
Info taken from Google flights so apologies if any info incorrect.
It's great that people have such a wide selection of flights to choose from, but from the airports perspective it must be annoying having the bulk leave at near enough the same time as each other. I thought it would be in the airports better interests to have a more varied timetable?

Though we have a lot of flights, I think it’s a good mix of departure times. Bit of a cluster in the morning and evening but could be worse.

06:00 Thomas Cook
07:35 Ryanair
07:55 TUI
09:50 Jet2
10:20 Easyjet
13:35 Ryanair
17:05 Primera
18:20 British Airways
18:30 Jet2
19:20 Easyjet

Total Seats: 1754

Also seems Primera will be doing a ‘W’ pattern on the Palma same as the Chania flight.
So when the Washington starts towards end of August we will have 5 different Primera planes in throughout the day on Fridays and Saturdays.

Thanks for the info on PMI pretty impressive line up...

Yes Primera is totalling nicely too with 5 different a/c peak season Fri/Sat now.

Made up I guess with 3 based A321NEO...1 based B738... & 1 away based B738... W visit on both days.

Six actually on a Friday as there's an additional Malaga inbound on a W as well, leading to seven departures in total with potentially five of their aircraft all on the ramp at once.

I have no doubt we’ll see all six on the ground at once, with snowploughs parked at each end.

Depending on their number of A321’s could we see an extra one, to rotate aircraft and cover in case of technical issues ?
Or will we see them relying on Titan 757’s and 767 in that instance ?

You and I Skipness seem to be the only two with any rationale about Primera, everybody else seems to be waxying lyrical about the airline. The bad memories of peoplExpress, Laker etc sadly come to mind.

It’s sad to see that you want an airline to fail so badly.

It is not sad just trying to be realistic. I was made redundant four times so I do know what it is like to be out of work.

Primera...
Glad to see the adding up was wrong & 6 different frames on a Friday instead of the 5 calculated.

I was not aware of the W Malaga only the base daily.

The additions keep coming incrementally.

I’m sure all the Primera cabin and flight deck crews who read this forum (bearing in mind they’re predominantly former monarch crews) will appreciate your input.

Certainly compounds & reinforces my views concerning Primera when I see off the cuff comparisons of failures such as Laker posted.

Primera are a challenger business within the North American market in this instance making use of innovative airframe & engine advances for customers who are themselves a generation or two removed now from all those failures being regurgitated.

However Laker in his day was a challenger too with access to then innovative new airliner economics which enabled commercial thinking/ideas removed from the mainstream status quo.
Much copy has been written concerning the demise but it is a given that Lakers initiative inspired & made room in every sense for a then young man to start VIR.

Peoples Express in the USA inspired along with deregulation many other start ups in the US.

So Primera much to some posters angst & succeeding or not will eventually innovate & realign a market segment that STN & other worthy airports & operator`s will be able to maximize in the future.

This is not a start up airline put together in a shed by three teenagers
They have survived longer the some airlines and a lot of work would have gone into the new longhaul venture its about time people on here give them a chance and stop putting them down so easily if you look at the bigger picture all this doubt has arisen from the cancellation of 1x route and a reduced schedule both at Birmingham you could look at that as a negative but in reality it looks like the have a realistic plan and was a good business move to scrap and scale back something that wasn’t working it would have been much worse if they had done nothing at Birmingham and ended up running empty aircraft across the pond.

The BHX situation serves only to magnify the angst & doubt & hard agenda perpetuated by likely posters.

The industry is thankful for any planned innovation as it addresses & attempts an interface with the future.

Of course the fittest survive but nature et al thrive with this law & truism.

Luddites are a term from history & is lucky for our society I guess that the late Georgians & Victorians (exemplars of invention & innovation) moved on from safe "it`s never been done before" thinking.

You do wonder how C3B and S1E would be reacting to this if Prinera had chosen Luton.

After all, that is a transatlantic boutique airport...

Not me Whitelighter. I was concerned about Silverjet, Debonair and Excel (Icelandics involved) so sorry to disappoint on the old chestnut of one airport is better than the other. I thought that had been put to bed but apparently not.
