I believe that you are referring to a UK wide scheme whereby pilots of light aircraft (ie non commercial) are, as flight safety initiative, offered free landings at many airports in the event of encountering bad weather while en route to their planned destination. Unless SEN is desperate for revenue, cannot imagine that they are offering free landings for all diversions.

If there is such an agreement it would appear to be a contravention of Condition 1 of SEN's Public Use Aerodrome Licence whereby the aerodrome must be made available to all users on equal terms and conditions.

8 diversions today now with the Luxair 4593 finally deciding to stop going around in circles and land at Southend. If he'd come in straight away his pax would be halfway to London on the train by now.

Guys
A lot of talk about diversions fm LCY yesterday and again today but no pics yet.
Have we all forgotten the old adage a pictures worth a thousand words, It would be nice to see
some potographic evidence'''''', Whenever I am at SEN there always seems to be a lot of spotters around and all with expencive cameras but we rarely see much in the way of new pics, If only I had had a good camera on the 24 Dec 1958 but at least I did see them all arrive on Christmas eve and depart on boxing day,

I don't understand this obsession with diversions and the endless posts about them. It's the same airlines from the same airport so why do we need to know everytime a few aircraft arrive?

Well - something else worthy of note. Todays Daily Mail has a 2 x half-page ad for Stobart air / Southend Airport. One half is a recruitment ad for EJet Captains and First Officers and the other half lists all the destinations currently bookable from Southend with illustrative prices "from £XX.XX". With the Mails substantial readership one would hope that this will produce some good results.
