If they replicate this year for 2015, that looks like
AC1904 06:45 YYZ B763
EY027 07:15 AUH A332
UA118 07:45 ORD B752
UA36 07:55 EWR B752
US784 08:40 PHL B752
Get laying concrete with Rouge planned to be away before US arrives. Ideally.

Other than security and additional shops, is there anything already in planning airside to avoid this possible grinding to a halt?
Hope they get things sorted in terms of infrastructure.

Its going to be a blood bath.... and its normally not EK who bow down. EY must have seen the opportunity of QR just operating 5 days a week with thus far relatively low loads. Interesting times.

Thanks Joe, I think as ever, you accidentally forgot the context which changes the meaning : "'It is well targeted and an appropriate reminder to those flying from Scotland's capital city that expensive and time-consuming connections on to long-haul flights through London or other European points are now a thing of the past. Glasgow's right there on the doorstep, providing the non-stop service to Dubai and on to points across the globe.'"
Emirates were using a Scottish airport to encourage Scots to use a direct Scottish service rather than one via London and on. Though I understand how you would see that as an attack on Edinburgh Airport.... It appears to be a dig at London but chips and shoulders etc

I would say it highlights why BAA's Scottish airport monopoly was broken-up
by the competition commission. Plus BAA's determination to retain Glasgow as it's Scottish long haul gateway. Another point to ponder is why were BAA
disadvantaging it's Edinburgh pax - assuming they were the main target - by
sending them some 90kms west of central Edinburgh, thereby passing EDI's front door.? A front door I might add that was not exactly welcoming with the EK advertisement hosted by BAA themselves?.

I'm afraid I would agree with Joe here. While advertising a DXB route from Scotland made sense, to tell people they were "going the wrong way" and advertise an airport on the other side of the country seemed totally stupid to me. I remember seeing those adverts and thinking it was a bit off. I mean you wouldn't have seen BAA allowing Ryanair to put a model 737 on the Concorde roundabout or hang a giant poster in T5 advertising their STN routes either, so why was it done in Scotland?
