Just read this article
Norwegian Air pilots braced for bankrupcty - The Local
The article states that DY may file for bankruptcy of its Norwegian Air Norway subsidiary in a effort to end ongoing strike action by pilots.
Guess this is a case of wait and see.
The bankruptcy would not affect DY's longhaul and non Scandinavian operations.

First eight Norwegian B738s have appeared on the Irish register, EI-FHA et seq.
Registrant is Norwegian Air International, separated from the 787s which are with DY7 Aviation. Both of the same address in Dublin, of course!

Medium term doesn't look good as they are highly leveraged and anything which disrupts day to day cash coming in is not good.
A strike doesn't just affect the days when actually on strike as potential passengers tend to book future flights elsewhere due to uncertainty.

LGW - Puerto Rico....
Interesting. I believe Virgin used to operate this. Where's the demand from ths route coming from? If its holiday/vacation traffic, I would have thought Virgin would have made a better go of it given they have Virgin Holidays feeding the flights. I suppose they still have DAL feeders from JFK/DTW as well.

Great news for those of us that live in the NE Caribbean. There are good connections out of SJU. I first used this route when British Caledonian operated it and then BA and Virgin. This will allow us to avoid Antigua and Liat.
They really need to promote this well in all the NE Caribbean islands, we have been looking for an alternate to having to use Liat for a long time. I think this will be a popular route, many of us travel regularly to London and have kids going backwards and forwards in all the school holidays.

DY forced to remove some if not all B787 from Irish register or they cant fly them to Norway. Suspect LGW baswd aircraft including the 787 will stay! They also plan to continue and use the cheap crew which is illegal in Norway....
Will be interestung to see if long haul out of Oslo will now be viable!
