Is it repairable? Quite an old bird.

Not to belittle the efforts of the CC, but the comment by the airline (non-partisan obviously) that the incident was "well managed and controlled" and all pax were "safely and quickly escorted from the aircraft" falls a bit flat when you read there were only 4 on board!

Your comment above can only be seen as Cynical I think you're looking at the word "quickly" too much and not enough at the word "safely". 4 passengers uninjured at least which can't be said all the time in incidents like these regardless of size of passenger load.

I think everyone here would agree that pilots and cabin crew are there for the benefit of everyones safety. I don't think there is anything more to be said on the above comment except well done to all involved in ensuring that everyone evacuated safely. Aircraft and machines can be repaired or fixed but lives can't.

You're missing the point - I thought there were only 4 people on board but misread the article. I now retract it!

Is the ATR now airworthy?

Any update?

Are they using a substituted aircraft?

G-DRFC being repaired.

Courtesy of channelonline.tv...

Questions are being raised about Jersey Airport's ability to deal with large aircraft in need of repair.

Last month a Blue Islands ATR from Guernsey was badly damaged when undercarriage gear apparently failed on landing in Jersey.

Now St Brelade Deputy Sean Power is asking how much hangar space is available at the Airport for commercial aircraft needing covered maintenance or repair.

Specifically Deputy Power is asking if the damaged Blue Islands plane can be housed in any hangar.

He also wants to know what covered facilities are available for air accident investigators.

An investigation into what happened to the Blue Islands plane is continuing and the damaged plane is undergoing repairs.
