Have to love the 737. The -300's with the new winglets look stunning too! But for me, it has to be the -800. Long live the 737 (and the 757, of course, the next best thing!)

Jet2 reveals cost of passenger compensation

Compensation payments to passengers whose flights have been delayed and cancelled will cost regional carrier Jet2 £17 million this year.
The figure was revealed in a trading update to the London Stock Exchange by parent company Dart Group this morning.
However, the Group said winter losses were lower than expected, so operating profit for the year to the end of March will be ahead of current market expectations and broadly in line with last year when it made £49.2 million.
It said forward bookings for summer 2015 are 'encouraging' with over 50% of the season already sold, which is ahead of this time last year.

If their hedging policy is similar to most other airlines then it will be sometime before they gain from the fall in fuel costs, probably third quarter, unless they take the hit in the current year.

I understand the winglets benefit the 733s more than the 738s due to the latter's already larger wing. I am surprised they are still flying 738s without them though I would have thought they would be an easier mod than the 300s. Also the 757s have been in the fleet a while so unless they intend getting rid of the older birds I would have expected them to have been upgraded during maintenance by now. Anyone any insight on the plans?

The Board believes that Group underlying operating profit(1) for the year ending 31 March 2015 will be ahead of current market expectations and broadly in line with last year (2014: £49.2m), as a result of lower than anticipated winter losses.
Looking ahead to the year ending 31 March 2016, forward bookings in the Leisure Travel business for summer 2015 are encouraging, with over 50% of the season having already been sold, which is ahead of where we were at this stage last year.
The Distribution & Logistics business, Fowler Welch, continues to focus on growing its revenue pipeline and developing existing and new business opportunities.
The Group intends to further develop and grow its businesses and expects further progress in the year ending 31 March 2016.
