There will be plans to retire some more 733's, though other than G-CELU, I don't know if any more are scheduled this winter. I believe that G-CELC, is in the process of being scrapped now.

As far as I am aware, the timetable is complete for summer 2015, or at least it should be, given that Jet2holidays are offering holidays for up to the back end of April 2016.

LS will operate the leased A320 from GLA as follows. Info based on the schedule for early July

MON - GLA-IBZ-GLA-MJV-GLA

TUE - GLA-ALC-GLA-MAH-GLA

WED - GLA-AGP-GLA-ALC-GLA

THU - GLA-FCO-GLA-IBZ-GLA

FRI - GLA-MJV-GLA-IBZ-GLA

SAT - GLA-FAO-GLA-PMI-GLA

SUN - GLA-AGP-GLA-IBZ-GLA

LS appear to be planning to operate 6 aircraft from GLA during the S15 season peak. 5 737-800's plus the 1 leased A320 from Titan.

Not sure if LS plan to base a standby aircraft in GLA during the summer season

Sorry, until payment is received, the matter cannot be discussed in any detail and is rather complex.

BTW: It is not just one delay and one instance of poor customer service that we have been on the receiving end of from Jet2.

Jet2 are this family's carrier of last resort.

If you have NEVER suffered at the hands of Jet2, then you are not able to comment.

Believe all the propaganda if you wish, but don't expect everyone to.

Sorry but everyone is entitled to make their comment..Whether or not you agree with it IB is up to you, but freedom of speech is an intrinsic part of our society. Jet 2, for what its worth, have a good reputation and I have found them fine. Friends who have been delayed have nothing but praise for their actions.

As Scratching said a thoroughly bad piece of legislation. The fundamentals were a good idea, the application will have far reaching consequences....for all of us..

Jet2 got EVERYONE home via ferry and road, which other airline did that!
Very, Very good point scratchingthesky! LS did absolutely everything in their power to get people home, whether it was by ferry, road... They even dispatched coaches all the way from LBA to the bottom of Spain to get all of the stranded passengers back home.
-
On another note, it looks like EMA based 737-800 G-GDFS has gone tech down in TFS, after performing flight EXS633 this morning. 757-200, G-LSAJ has been dispatched from LBA as EXS049A, as a recovery aircraft with new crew, and is currently at FL380 on its way down now. The passengers have an ETA back at EMA of 01:30, though it'll probably be there before that.

Punctuality

Jet2.com were the Britain's most unpunctual airline two years running in 2010 and 2011. Can anyone advise if this is still the case? What measures have been taken to improve this?

Jet2 738

That may be a lot of €400 for 180+ pax.....

£50k compensation cost PLUS all other costs of the broken aircraft, repatriation etc...

wonder why they didn't use the ALC based aircraft that you have mentioned so often......

All the passengers on the return leg have as far as I am aware been given food and drinks vouchers down in TFS, but with it being about a 4.5 - 5 hour delay, the passengers won't receive any more compensation.

The ALC spare is only a 737-300. The problem with that is, the max capacity of the 737-300 is 148 (as Lord Spandex Masher correctly pointed out above). The 737-800 was almost full (just under 180 pax) on the return leg, so using the ALC airspare, would mean leaving pax stranded in TFS. The crew on the return leg will have now ran short of hours, so the LBA based team will have been drafted in as standby crew. The 757 will have on board the relief team (2 pilots + 4/5 crew), and will also have to have spare seats for the out of hours crew (2 pilots + 4 crew). It is also more favourable to the pax, as opposed to doing TFS-ALC, than an aircraft change, and a crew change, and then ALC-EMA. The strategy I talk about is mainly for summer and peak times, when such aircraft and standby crews would take much longer to source.

100% agree with scratchingthesky! It'll not be long before people's buses start turning up 15mins late, and people do their best to sue the bus provider.

the company has launched a replacement aircraft and crew within an hour from the uk
Exactly. You see, it seems some people don't understand the huge logistical challenge of informing an entire crew that they're going to be needed, and then jetting them off an hour later. In this time, the crew need to get ready, commute to the airport, clear security, file a flight plan, prep the aircraft... And the company has to source the replacement aircraft, and have it moved to the appropriate stand, at the appropriate airport. It is really pretty impressive that this can all happen on such short notice.
