Didn't Jet2 used to fly there? I'm sure they were around when I visited around 2010.

I certainly remember Jet2 operating from Leeds to La Rochelle in the past and the shared Olbia/Edinburgh. I'm certain the other French flight Leeds shared with Edinburgh was Avignon.

Is G-GDFM B737-300 still in the fleet? Hasn't appeared on FR24 in a while. Is it on a 'C' check?

Huge Jet2 increases from some airports for high Summer '18 whereas LBA, as I write has gained about 3 flights per week [net] to the Med. in August. Losing Dusseldorf after many many years of year round service and further reduction to Amsterdam in high Summer. Can't help feeling LS's HQ on the hill is now saturated for routes that are yield viable from one of Europe's most pilfered catchment areas.

Actually Leeds will grow next year from 11+ operational aircraft to 13+ operational.
Lots of extra capacity been added on the med routes. Plus LBA sees quite a few flights been operated by either the ALC or PMI based aircraft.
As expected, With further B737-300's been gradually withdrawn the city routes eg AMS, CDG, & DUS will most likely dissappear as the B738 is just to big.

summer 2017
4x B733
4x B752
3x B738

Summer 2018
3x B752
4x B733
6x B738

AMS would be a shame, as it's their first ever route.

I talk purely in terms of actual landing (or departing) flights per week. I would hope that you are right about capacity increasing. There is a net gain of 3 extra landings per week in high Summer compared with 2017 high Summer wherever the aircraft may be based. I hope like you that there is more to come!

I agree a 737 800 is too big for AMS, CDG, DUS etc just as it was too big for Lubeck, Madrid, Geneva, Sardinia and Toulouse etc from LBA. Just as an ATR42 is too big for Cork. Where LBA is geographically located means that millions upon millions of LBA's own catchment population, many living within a few miles of the airport are jumping straight onto the motorway or trans pennine express and using a different airport. I know you love LBA, LBIA just like me, but you simply cannot put off your immediate catchment population from using you and still be a successful airport that makes best use of its potential.

Can you imagine how many based LS aircraft there would be at an airport that was located to not just keep its own catchment but encourage neighbouring catchments to easily get to the airport - I would suggest double what would be based at LBA next year.
