If they want to waste a shed load of money then fine but they can't expect a bail out when it fails.

Wouldn't wider doors just get them to the pinch point of the aisle quicker? Or are the ailse's getting wider as well??

so ryanair will not get new planes until 2020. With 4 planes going back each year the fleet is going to be smaller and an average of 13 years old by then.

And you can't knock that.

But then again what really counts is the yield - to an extent any fool can fill and aircraft but are you making money?

Ryanair certainly seem to be making money but how long that will last is another matter.

Oh you mean younger than the current average age of BA's fleet.

Lets see not buying new planes means you flying assets that are fully paid off so aside from maintenance you have no great capital repayment schedule which means you making more money.

Funny you never seem to be on about IAG's billion loss or AF/KLM's.

SLF don't really need windows so why not stick seats in freighters?

And imagine how much faster loading will be once everyone is pre-packed into containers!

You could have different modules for different stops to speed up multi-leg flights, much like the railways used to have different carriages for different destinations!

And then ......... oops, off to take my medication.......

Media attention seeking again!!!!! Anyone with an ounce of sense knows that moving passengers through doors faster is of no consequence if the bottle-neck is in the aisle.

SLF pre-packed into containers and suitably sedated for the flight duration would perhaps be the preferable choice for certain airlines these days.

Hypersleep would be pretty cool. That's what they did in the Alien series on their way to the outskirts of space.

Not the future, it's already here with the exception of catheterisation which I suspect is coming very soon...

Wider doors are just an idea for the COMAC design FR are giving feedback to. Wider aisles are also needed. The problem with the 737-800 are the narrow aisles, which dramatically slows down boarding compared to the A320.

I think this design will be fascinating once finalised...maybe COMAC will end up with 2 specs, a LCC model and full service model.

I can see inbuilt airstairs, wider aisles, more room for carry ons etc.

I wish FR would just rip out one of the rear toilets on the 738 and use it as a "hold" for all the carry ons....
