Lagun Air
Not sure how widely disseminated this is, but Lagun Air have suspended all flights effective midnight 9 October. Surprisingly, passengers do not lose out, by virtue of being rebooked on Air Nostrum
With Spain on the verge of (or even in) recession, it doesn't look hopeful for the airline to revive.

Bablefish gives the following translation to English - apologies if this does not meet copyright rules:
By agreement of the Council of Administration of Lagunair celebrated and passed 6 of October in Leon the temporary suspension of the commercial operations of regular flights of the company is decreed, from the 00:00 hours of Thursday day 9 of October.
Before this Lagunair situation it informs to all the passengers who have emitted their tickets with this company before the 9 of October of 2008 that they will be transported to his destinies by the Company Air Nostrum without he supposes no cost addition for the passengers, and in the same schedules and conditions established in his tickets.
Also, Lagunair guarantees the operative one of all lines until the above-mentioned date, and also it guarantees the reimbursement of all the tickets acquired for later flights of dates as long as thus it corresponds according to the conditions of tariff.

Not suprising at all. Air Nostrums domestic tactics have worked again ie:
Let the new regional start
Let them market the route
After six mths announce the new Air Nostrum flights on the route
Take advantage of "onward connections" with Iberia
Offer below cost lead in fares at 99€ return
When regional struggles enter into almost all other routes on their network
When regional fails increase fares to 200€ plus return
Any Spanish domestic operator in the last 7-8 years has been seen off this way. The only ones that have survived are in the Canary islands and thats because they opertae with IB codeshares. The "open skies" thing hasn´t really worked in Spain domestically.

Contacts in Spain insist the suspension is temporary but it does seem strange to put all passengers onto the opposition.. perhaps the suspension will quietly change from temporary to permanent??
If it does become permanent I wonder where their three EMB145s will find homes??

Judge passed the voluntary liquidation order today so its permanent.
Maybe they´ll re form as another airline with a similar management structure but I very much doubt it. No Spanish domestic airline start up has survived for more than 3 years since... ermmm... Air Nostrum.
