Not suprising at all. Air Nostrums domestic tactics have worked again ie:
Let the new regional start
Let them market the route
After six mths announce the new Air Nostrum flights on the route
Take advantage of "onward connections" with Iberia
Offer below cost lead in fares at 99€ return
When regional struggles enter into almost all other routes on their network
When regional fails increase fares to 200€ plus return
Any Spanish domestic operator in the last 7-8 years has been seen off this way. The only ones that have survived are in the Canary islands and thats because they opertae with IB codeshares. The "open skies" thing hasn´t really worked in Spain domestically.
