Lanzarote Friday 05th August

Surprised to pass the airport heading for work this morning and see two Thomson parked remote. G-CPEU ex GLA and G-FDZJ ex EMA.
Both seemed to have arrived on time last night...
if both tech, must be causing a few headaches on the schedules today?

Parked remote where? I have travelled on TOM to ACE before on a 767 and parked remote, its quite a common occurrence in ACE to be remote, was there anything else to suggest they'd gone tech?

There both parked up off gate, FR24 suggests both should have departed back to the UK last night, No action around either at 0900.

If you wanted to travel a little bit earlier, the TOM2404 on Thursday (MAN to Las Palmas) is scheduled on a B767 but ends on the 27th Oct.

The B787s will be getting ready for the Winter programme by that point so their involvement ramps down with the flying programme. Hope that helps...
MAN-LCA will be operated by 787 intil at least 9 October,

Anyone know why TUIJ has stayed at LGW, it got delivered to MAN and as far as I am aware operated a few MAN flights before moving to LGW and staying there. I would have thought they'd have rotated it round all the long haul bases throughout the summer particularly MAN GLA and BHX as well as LGW, or was the plan to always keep it at LGW for the summer?

Won't be at GLA for now as it's the end of the summer holidays and peak for the English holidays. Maybe LGW needs the capacity?

According to Routes the UK-DWC flights will be on the 787 instead of the 767 as was speculated

Does anyone know what's going on with TUIG from 15/08 through to today (17/08)? It seems to only be going across the pond via Scotland, Iceland, Greenland then down Canada and the US (and back the same way) ETOPS related maybe or something MEL? Apparently it went tech on the outbound BHX-CUN on 15/08. Whatever it is then it's causing long delays for the pax travelling on her and probably a bit of a headache with planning. Just curious...

Edit: It seems to be using the normal routes again on STN-SFB now on 17/08 so whatever it was seems to be fixed.

Does anyone know how the turnarounds for crew work on long-haul, weekly flights? E.g. if a crew flies out to PVR, it's an 11 hour flight so they can't fly back and they would have to wait a week there to fly the flight back.

What happens to the crew when they land at PVR?

Sorry if this has already been answered (I'm new here ) however which 787s are currently configured as short haul?

G-TUIA, G-TUIF and G-TUII have been flying mostly short haul yet have all recently flown some long haul routes however the other 787s haven't flown short haul routes.

I notice the TOM 2278 MAN to RHO was a 767 yesterday rather than the scheduled 787-8, issue with G-TUIA maybe? Flying this route on 13th Sept so hoping it's still going to be a 787!

Reason why Manchester and Gatwick long haul flights operate differing days of the week.

Crew would operate MAN-PVR (Friday) PVR-LGW (Sat)

Gatwick crew on Saturday could be slipped up to Orlando or Cancun to operate the return flights.

Similarly reverse pattern- Maximum out of station time 2 days.

azz767 - Yes always the plan A few familiarisation flights from Manchester including several inter European routes then down to Gatwick till end of UK summer scheduled where its off to Scandinavia for the winter Thailand shuttles.

G-TUIA used to do flt TOM168 due to unserviceability of G-TUIG, it should be back to shorthaul tomorrow.

G-TUIA departed MAN for Cancun on Tuesday evening (30th) over 9 hours late. Reports of pax boarded on the plane and stuck on the tarmac for several hours. Not sure if this was down to a problem with IA?

I don't think IA was the problem, it landed on time from Tenerife at midday which would have been after the departure time for the Cancun flight anyway. IE did have a divert to St. Johns a few days ago with residual delays since, IG also didn't move yesterday after arriving the day before (29th) into Manchester from PUJ so it would have likely been one of those two that IA was drafted in to cover for as soon as it was available.
