maybe seeing all the increases at EMA has made easyjet realise they made a mistake?
Shame they cant make up their mind on which airport they want to use though. EMA then to DSA and now back to EMA!

That is how it was for S10, and how I'd assume it'd be for S11 as well, as ACE would then follow off FAO, but according to their timetable, its not the case, unless something changes

Both the based TCX aircraft 9as of last week) are now A321's - one of which is fitted with an ACT which gives it the capability to to get to SSH & HRG. B757 operations in S.2011 will be confined to 'W' patterns

One of the reasons easyJet left DSA was because of the logistics problems with not having crew based there, and the costs involved. If they couldn't make it work then, why would they do it again with EMA?

I have now heard this from numerous EZY crew that I previously worked with that they are to return to EMA and also apparently the cleaners at EMA have an EZY registered A320 unit on their schedule for next summer also.

I have heard that the announcement will be made on November 15th to announce these apparent routes.

NEW

New for W11/12 - Thomson, Cape Verde - Boa Vista... will be ops on a B75W... so am guessing once again for W11 as far away as it seems to be right now will be 1x B738 and 1x B75W

Cleaners

easy6826, that's because FR will only have 4 based units next summer.

was at the airport this morning the thomson 767W charter to barbados was parked on the ups ramp and boarded from a bus service from the terminial gates. Anyone know why, lack of ramp space? if so how are ema going to cope next summer if easy jet have another aircraft along with the jet2 757?

Can anyone confirm if G-MEDJ left this afternoon?

Has it been in maintenance for the last couple of weeks?

Stands 21 and 43 are usually free for the B76W, but weren't this morning... as the B76W was coming in empty, it was only really a case of a quick turn around, so it went to UPS instead, usually does when its in empty...

Regarding easyjet, many of you need to realise that whilst w patterns/out of base flying can raise challenges, the actual nightstopping of crew I'd not one of them. Productivity wise, the crew won't lose hours by nightstopping (infact in theory they can reduce rest period) and still operate as much as they would in base over the same period. Also, nightstopping crews is not that expensive on the scheme of things. Airlines have very preferential hotel contracts and ezy has some nightstops across the network already in addition to nightstops associated with out of base flying and training.

Well if what I was told about the costs of the EZY operation at DSA for the hotel alone added up to is true, then no wonder it was an expensive venture to set up. They were having to allocate upto 12 rooms on some nights along with the use of a meeting room for crew briefings etc. I understand the cost to EZY would be quite small for a short period of time for what they could potentially make in revenue, but in the long run it has got to bite despite reduced/special rates.

G-MEDJ did leave this afternoon & pretty much went straight out to IKA. G-MEDJ has been having a cabin re-fit with the existing old BMed seats replaced with brown leather ones. G-MEDK is now in EMA for a repaint into full livery. With G-MEDH to follow the day it leaves.

Re DSA,

It never could and never was going to make money for EZY.

It was purely a commercial agreement with Peel Holdings to permit more favourable contractual terms at John Lennon (and also enhance the profile of DSA)

Nothing to do with Hotel costs etc.
