Could anyone tell me how the new East Midlands-Cork route is doing? What have loads been like? I was just wondering what the demand has been like for the new service given that BMI Baby and Aer Lingus both already operate daily services from Birmingham to Cork.

The EMA-ORK flight has been full every time i have looked on the pax numbers page but this may be due to xmas holiday travellers so it will be easier to judge how well used this route is in two or three weeks time.

Is this to be operated by a Let410, Metro or the recently introduced D228?

From the Manx2 press release (from their website):

The flights will be operated by a fast, pressurised 19 seat Metroliner aircraft.

Glad to see an XL a/c is going to be based at EMA, and also glad to see the increase in the DUB, making my trips across even more flexible. Other new routes or increased frequenices also expected soon from FR, I think the 6th a/c is due sometime in the spring.

But, what I was wondering was when TCX reverts to basing A320s at EMA, what will happen to the winter Gambia-Banjul flights, because the A320s wouldn't make it there would they, and I wouldn't think they would bring a larger a/c just for the one flight a week, so maybe the flights will be discontinued next winter. Any view and comments on this appreciated.

Thanks

Ithink you will find that the E.M.A-Gambia flights have always been operated by Astraeus Airlines using 737-700s.they ferry down from MAN and then operate E.M.A -BRS-BJL.

Re: summer 2008, Menzies have retained the TCX contract for the 2x A320. They have also won the manx2 IOM contract. TOM and FCA will stay the same this year, and for next summer there will be a TUI contract up for grabs for the combined TOM/FCA contract. If Menzies gain that, could be interesting times for Servisair
