The 1st B752 from Icelandair will arrive on time to operate the YHM flights from STN.
Both due next week and are 256srs a/c. Will operate in full Icelandair livery - yes?

They are just getting their footing on this longhaul. A young airline like this will need time to adjust. They make mistakes sometimes, but they do learn from this. Give them a few years and they will be Massive!! A lot of people say that they are in a bad way, but this couldn't be further from the truth - they already have 7 main bases from S07: ABZ/MME/GLA/EDI/STN/LPL/MAN, and there is rumoured to be more on the way. They are making profit and are in the black, so things are looking rosey for Mr D. This airline will be around for a long time yet. However, they are getting so big for Mr D to manage don't be surprised if a floatation isn't on the cards within the next 2 years.

Jethros I think the B752s will be given flyglobespan titles, not in full icelandair colours. THe B752 that has the LPL titles on the tail is actually ours taken over from Icelandair and will stay in the GSM fleet.

That'll be the long-time tech John Lennon 757 sat at GLA doing nothing but engine runs throughout each day I guess? Definately not flying much at the mo. Damn those faulty EEC units!

Are you so sure that they are going to get old, apparently a lot of pax a slightly annoyed - mild comment at paying for a service they are no not getting re no bus class on some flights direct flights not going direct. Its important they get things right to get the return business on the long haul routes. Looks like they aren't doing that. Teething problems you expect however these problems appear much larger than simple teething problems.

How many business have failed by trying to run before they can walk!!

Cheers

I do hope they get it sorted and I also hope it works, however
I cant help but thinking that If one flight is delayed for along time
and another goes tech the STN-BFS-YHM flight will end up going
STN-YYY-YYY-YYY-YHM, do they have enough aircraft for if things
go wrong, trying to hire in an 737 is hard enough in the summer season
never mind a 757 or 767.

Noticed something interesting today.

Manchester busses are advertising FlyGlobespan Liverpool to New York, but the advert shows a B737-800 with winglets !!!

One source is convinced the Neos 767s are going into service without any cabin mods, so many biz pax are going to be well peed off.

The advert with the 737-800 is just branding it's not indicative of which a/c will be operating the flight.

I have operated on the 752 which will be operating the LPL - JFK route and it is very nice inside...seating is very comfortable.

I think GSM have the right Business plan, But it is all happening too fast, I think they should take their time and 'sort-out' it's 'Teething' problems before expanding any further.

I think they are frightened of missing the 'Bandwagon'

Yes the Icelandair planes are 757-256, TF-FIT and TF-FIS. They are currently both in a all white livery, I think they will be painted in Flyglobespan colors. TF-FIS is scheduled to fly ferry KEF-YHM on 01 May and to fly GSM182 YHM-EXT-STN on 02 May.
TF-FIT is scheduled to be ferryflown KEF-GLA on 21 May.

If Globespan are leasing the two Icelandair 757s and the two Neos 767s, is there any reason why they haven't applied to the Department for Transport for permission to lease them? I thought you normally had to apply and the details would be published in the CAA Official Record, but nothing has been published. Everyone else's applications - like First Choice leasing the Canadian 757 etc - have appeared as usual and within the normal 60 day timeline that DfT publishes.

All MAN-YHM and LGW-YHM flights have been re-routed via GLA from July onwards.

On the GSM website, when booking GLA-SFB, the premium economy option has been removed from the drop down menu when booking. The only options are economy and business.
However when you click to display flights, the premium economy option is available. This is just a recent change to the website, are they thinking of dropping premium economy service then if the new aircraft don't have prem econ seating?

Will be with GSM until late May when the Neos A/C are in place around Mid-May. By end of May all A/C should arrive in fleet and operational.
