however the public are the ones who ultimately make or break airlines in the grand scheme of things. No passengers, no airline.
Question - So what do you do?, Answer - you get a tin of paint & spray guns & paint all the GSM longhaul fleet in Zoom colours & remarket...

On GSM website it now says all flights operated by GSM. The OOM flights had been removed.

The CAA granted permission for Zoom to fly scheduled AND charter flights 'within the terms of the holder’s Air Operator’s Certificate' from 11th June.

The GSM website timetable section has now caught up with the booking engine and shows that winter plans for the LPL/KFK route have now gone altogether, last flight by both sections is 30th October.

Strange that all the winter flights have been taken out because I know people that could not book their preferred dates in December because various dates in the Upgrade and Business classes were full.

Winter schedule for Knock?

Anybody know if the LPL/JFK termination for the Winter schedule means that the Knock service to NY will not operate? Similarly, in the absence of a GLA/BOS next Winter does this mean the end for Knock-Boston?

Knock to JFK was never, according to the airlines website, going to run outside the summer period anyway.

No GSM longhaul flights will be operated by Zoom, it was an error on their website. I believe that Zoom wouldn't touch their flights, the last time they code-shared, Zoom were not pleased at all with them.

All GSM flights departing Glasgow today are delayed.

AGP - Tech (Their new 737-800 returned back to stand) 2 hours late
ALC - 1 hour
TFS - Tech - 1 hour
BCN - 1.5 hours
PMI - 1.5 hours (Due to late inbounds.. as they where late out of GLA)
PFO - 1 hour (late inbound)
BOS - 1 hour (late inbound)

Now that is one heck of an error to make and appears to prove that the left hand has no idea what the right hand is doing. With that in mind, can anyone actually confirm that the two TF registered a/c are returning early to Icelandair?

Does seem odd - but not as odd as Zoom suddenly finding the capacity to take on that amount of work at short notice.

I have a interview next week for the B757/767 fleet. If its as bad as it sounds are people leaving GSM? If it doesn't get any better how long do you think they will be around for? I'm thinking of job security etc.

Beg to differ.....from what I can make out, Zoom are being brought-in on routes to Hamilton, Vancouver....even Liverpool to JFK is getting the Zoom treatment (all taken from the GSM website timetable section).

You were saying.....?

Some of the flights did show 'operated by oom', they have however changed them to 'operated by gsm'. However, they could be keeping it quiet. Unlikely though, I doubt Zoom have spare aircraft just sitting around.

We'll see.

Seems I was wrong on the basis of what we know now - but it does make you wonder what is going-on at GSM - particularly when the news of Zoom operating GSM flights appeared in a number of different places from different individuals....what is strange is the fact that flight numbers on STN-XXX-YHM have changed...what does it all mean.

Anyway....four days and GSM take the balance for flights I have booked with them to YHM!

Good luck, I live near STN and decided on LGW-YYZ,
this means an extra hour by road around the M25
but thought it might save me hours in the long run

GSM Operated by Zoom

Was a tech problem with website that showed flights being operated by Zoom, was fixed this morning and website now correct.

757 should be back in service in next few days and back at LPL to operate the JFK service.

Both 757 aircraft on lease from Icelandair will remain till the end of October at the earliest.

GLA - BCN is over 6 hours down.

Second day running GLA has suffered, yesterday looked like this

All GSM flights departing Glasgow today are delayed.

AGP - Tech (Their new 737-800 returned back to stand) 2 hours late
ALC - 1 hour
TFS - Tech - 1 hour
BCN - 1.5 hours
PMI - 1.5 hours (Due to late inbounds.. as they where late out of GLA)
PFO - 1 hour (late inbound)
BOS - 1 hour (late inbound)
EDI has not been much better recently, however ABZ & MME aren't faring too bad so far, so it's not all bad

If you have the chance to fly Zoom rather than Globespan snatch it. They do make some attempt to fly to schedule and their flights tend to arrive on the dates advertised. I have flown both Zoom and Globespan. Under NO circumstances will I fly Globespan again, but will Zoom.

Local news here in Manch stated this evening that the LPL-JFK route is to be reduced from daily to 5 days a week due to poor loads! Also hinted that the Knock stop could happen on every trip to help boost loads!
