The two Saabs due to be delivered, G-CERY/Z, are they 340s or 2000s? Jethro's updates page says 340Bs, but the main Eastern Airways page has them down as 2000s?

Eastern news/ rumours
Word on the street is that Eastern are ressurecting MAN as a base with MAN-STN and possibly INV using the aircraft from MME now that the BRU has been pulled. Or maybe using the aircraft at LBA once the ABZ gets pulled there.......shhhh.......top secret info.......unless anybody knows any different?

Recruiting ABZ
Small ad in evening local, for variety of positions, to expand ops at Dyce.
So more routes/flights on horizon, or just natural turnover of staff.
They have supposedly acquired what was the ex-Brymon/BA hangar at the NW corner of the airport.

Reported elsewhere (in relation to T3 ABZ ops) that:
* T3 to have 5 based a/c (3x JS41, 2x SB20) at ABZ for W07, with SVG increasing to 3x daily M-F. This would make ABZ the biggest base on the T3 network. Don't know about any other network improvements, if there are to be any more
* The ex-BRY/BA hangar is theirs. Allegedly to stop others from getting their hands on it. Wonder what they'll do with it - just hangarage or if they carry out their own maintenance on a/c there, given that Caledonian have been acquired by rivals City Star
* I have heard more rumours about EMA being dropped, although these rumours have done the rounds before, & it (for now) remains at 3x daily M-F. As reported here, LBA rumoured for the chop, perhaps Flybe have impacted here, but we'll wait & see if the "word on the street" turns out to be true
* T3 to "self-handle" at ABZ, hence the recent newspaper jobs ad up here. No longer Menzies
Thanks to the guys who posted the info.

I have heard on the grapevine that Leeds is not going to be canned but reversed so that that the plane originates in ABZ. Flybe pax to ABZ are mostly originating from EXT.
Eastern own ground operations already in force

Yield is the thing here on the ABZSVG route I think, or potential yield! Which is why so many vie for space to operate it. As WB said, T3 may be hopeful that they can kick someone else off it, thus gaining a lucrative foothold.
Doubt X9 can be kicked off, as they have been quite clever & linked SVG with other Norwegian centres after the ABZ flights arrive there. They make their dosh on the ABZ-SVG leg, then SVG to the next destination.
I think SAS Norway will probably stay on the route, businessmen like the luxury of the jet (737), so I reckon T3 will be hopeful of kicking Wideroe (DH8) where it hurts. (Wideroe though are themselves increasing SVGABZ, so will be interesting to see how this pans out).
Meanwhile how does ABZFAE sound on a JS41?

I heard that too, re the "training" flight running from NCL to FAE.
Another person I have spoken to (who treads these forums too) wasn't sure if this was meant to be a scheduled flight or an oil charter, given the continuing exploration for oil in Faroese waters.
I therefore presume any FAE flight will be from/to ABZ?
