Given the choice of sitting for 2 1/2 hours in (for example) the average B737 chartered a/c which has minimum seat pitch and basic facilities (that includes, with the exception of Titan, couldn't give a toss cabin crews), or a very well equipped SAAB2000 which offers comfort and relaxation staffed by crews who know how to look after and do care about their customers, I know which one I'd choose as well.

What is likelihood that newhire could get placed on the Saab vs. the J41? Do newhires have many choices for either aircraft or domicile or are newhires pretty much assigned both? What domiciles would provide best chance for Saab slot?
I am a big fan of Saab 2000 having flown on them as pax in the past.

Flybe, Europe’s largest regional low cost airline, has today announced the extension of its double-daily Birmingham – Isle of Man service through the 2008/9 Winter Season following the enormous success enjoyed since tickets went on sale at the end of November 2007.
The highly popular service, with one way tickets available from £29.99 including taxes and charges, began operating at the end of March and continues to exceed all expectations, according to Flybe’s Chief Commercial Officer, Mike Rutter.
“We’ve been absolutely bowled over by how quickly this route has become such a success,” he said. “Tickets have been flying off the shelf and so we have had no hesitation in taking the decision to continue flying the Birmingham to Isle of Man route throughout the upcoming winter season.”
Mr Rutter added that the decision further confirms Flybe’s position as Europe’s largest regional low cost carrier, committed to offering affordable, reliable and direct travel from the regions for both business and leisure travellers.

The IOM Airport's published statistics for April '08 show that the number of passengers between IOM/BHX fell by 8% during April '08 compered to Apr '07.......This being the month which Flybe started their so called 'amazingly successful' double daily service. Also Flybe have not announced but have cut back IOM BHX flts by cancelling all Tue/Wed/Thur am services during May....

Ooo copy and paste is such a great tool to have isn't it Snappybits. 
I would find it unlikely that T3 would stop the route just yet. It is clear that the two carriers are far from friends and I feel that T3 will run until they simply have no other option but to stop.
However maybe someone could shed some light on T3 loads and this would give a better indication.

Someoene just told me at BHX that tonights IOM-BHX was:
BE - 22 pax
T3 - 21 pax
I wonder who got the higher yeilds though and who's costs on the route are the least ? I know how many got the glass of Lanson Champagne

Euromanx have now dimised and I hear Eastern going to step in on the IOM-LCY.
I hope R Lake takes note and trys his business model on this route, could be quite an earner?

Rumour at Ronaldsway is LogieBear looking at LCY for SAAB340 and Eastern for J41. 
With Logie now BE franchise will the fight continue?.
All thats really needed is a 2x daily J41 and leave VLM with the leisure traffic

I thought the LCY management had increased their fees for the smaller a/c types, which rendered the T3 NCLLCY service uneconomic, either with D38 or J41? Hence it got pulled, as Serenity said.
