Richard Taylor - why Good Grief ??

Please share your obviously extensive and informed knowledge of airline operations and explain your angst for this route and aircraft.

I was merely expressing my surprise that it was not a Saab2000, I am sure the JS41 will do the job.

Some people are SO sensitive...

A rumour monger of ill repute has suggested that the Flyperhapsmaybe services NWI to Glasgow were operated on a generous subsidy from a local development organisation for two years and this deal has come to an end, hence is no longer profitable.

NWI - Paris was always reasonably well patronised, it's my personal opinion that even the Ryanair wanabees at Jack Walker house could not deny that they covered their costs on the route, it's just that they now have greater demands upon the fleet and for some reason, they envisage that more profitable routes can be done elsewhere.

I understand that at all the airports they operate or used to operate from, Eastern have made it clear that they will step into any Flybe routes which are commercially viable once Flybe relinquish them.

As a consumer, I know where I who I would want to fly with.

Thought it might be worth noting my experiences of EZE as a first time EZE pax, but a long time airline manager.

CWL-NCL by J41. Timekeeping impeccable. Aircraft noticeably clean - made all the other aircraft I have flown on over the last ten years look grubby. Cabin crew very, very good, as was the service they provided. Fast track at NCL on my return trip appreciated, and again, impeccable timekeeping.

It is rare that I find absolutely nothing to fault on a return flight - but on this trip I make an exception. 10/10 Eastern. Will I be flying flybe on this route? No, never - I have seen the best and it works... bugger the price, this was hassle free and just great.

People do have their preferences and they are either all down to service provided and past experiences or due to price. No doubt majority of business pax will stay with Eastern Airways with it's 3 x daily flights that offer more flexibilty, Flybe will attract the majority of leisure passengers on the route. At the moment the T34645/T34646 is not too good on the pax loads and as long as Flybe don't add an extra rotation on the route then there will be no need for Eastern to be worried.

There is a reason I didn't mention it, and that is because I found the seat reasonably comfortable (I wouldn't want to go long haul in it, but for an hour each way it was more than adequate - and I'm 6'3" and not exactly slim!), and I didn't find the noise that bad. I have been in far noisier aircraft, and I would nominate the Dash-8 and the ATR as both being way noisier.

I used to fly a lot on the early ones (when they were in BA colours), these seemed much newer (-JY and -JP). Have never noticed any funny smells...

Twin Aisle

For your information both, a/c are of the US variant with the GPU slots in the rear rather than the front

JP- is no 39 on the productioon list
JY- is no 99

And all the interiors are coloured blue and not grey, so I do not know when the the other guy last flew

If i remember rightly a KL codeshare has been talked about before I believe it was on a rumoured INV/AMS start up.

As yet nothing!!!

Oh yeah should this thread now be changed to Eastern Airways 2008....

Just made aware of the crisis with Euromanx on IOM and Flybe making big impression there (with price, not punctuality). They seem to be on the edge.

There is talk that Eastern watching with glee, as they'll jump in on the IOM-LCY route as soon as Euro folds. Staff there very concerned and looking for alterative employment.

I think Eastern would do really well on that route for the suits.
