Don't forget they are spending £20m on the terminal. What have they spent so far? £10m maybe since they are half way through.So they absorbed £10m extra ordinary spend and still EBITA is up

That £10-£20-£80m or whatever will be capitalised so it is excluded from the EBITDA calculation (it will appear spead over a number of subsequent years as depreciation - which is excluded from EBITDA).

From my experiences at STN that's a bit like Tesco announcing a doubling of the size of a store but using the additional space for storing empty shelves.

Well seeing as the growth was actually 18.0m to 20.9m at least £3.0m in incremental operating costs, plus inflation.

Long-haul

TOM operated their first Dreamliner passenger flight from Stansted today to Montego Bay, Jamaica. The regular flights to Cancun and Orlando-Sanford start in May 2016.

Also TCX, or 'MT' should I refer to them from now on, are well ahead of the game with long-haul available for Summer 2017. They look to be sticking with July and August only with 3x weekly Orlando-Intl, 2x weekly Las Vegas and 1x weekly Cancun.

Actually Thomas Cook are operating an even more expanded long-haul programme than this if you check their booking engine. There are flights now ex Stansted over the major school holidays including the May half term week to Orlando.

Orlando is also up to 10x weekly during the peak school holidays in July/August some days offering two flights operated either by HiFly or Air Tanker.

This is a huge increase for an airport which had no long-haul leisure connections just a couple of years ago.

Think you might be looking at this summer's schedule. I'm referring to Summer 2017

I've spotted though that GLA is missing some MCO flights in late May and mid October 2017, which coincides with English half-term holidays. I'm going to hazard a guess that the aircraft will, like in 2016, operate STN - MCO for the half-term.

I reckon we'll see an increase as I'm pretty sure the Summer '16 programme was initially announced as three times weekly.

Airnavia Aalborg

Until yesterday, Danish travel company Airnavia were selling tickets on their website between Stansted and Aalborg. All references to London Stansted seem to have now disappeared from Airnavia's website.Have Airnavia perhaps dropped Stansted ?

Edit - just noticed all flights to the Med from Aalborg now seem to be operated by SAS instead of Danish Air Transport
2nd edit - now confirmed in Danish press that Aalborg-Stansted has been dropped.

Stansted voted best London Airport

Stansted has been named Best London Airport at this year's prestigious 14th annual London Transport Awards.

The judging panel recognised the investment programme undertaken by owners MAG to inspire renewed growth.

The gala ceremony was hosted by BBC Breakfast presenter Steph McGovern and attended by 500 transport professionals at the Lancaster London Hotel last night (Thursday, March 3).

Andrew Harrison, Stansted's managing director said: "I'm delighted Stansted has been named Best London Airport at the prestigious London Transport Awards, and very proud the work we have undertaken to rejuvenate and enhance the customer experience and facilities has been recognised by the judging panel and the wider transport world.

I trust more the views of passengers than a bunch of judges who probably never even visited the airport.

No one doubts the fine infrastructure and investment made at Stansted but MAG has failed miserably to turn that investment into a better customer experience.

You should be fine and find it easy with not much waiting in line
From experience 0530 to 0800 is very very busy.
But going through at 1300 should be no problem.
