Can anyone recall the frequency that BM operated on there W16/17 routes from ABZ?.
I need to travel from BRS to ABZ in mid January. I have just checked BM's website and the flights are showing as operating 7 x weekly next winter. Is this a reduction in frequency compared to last winter?. The schedule looks very strange to. With 2 flights on a Monday departing with gap of less than 2hrs.
BM1800 ABZ 06:40 BRS 08:00 ER4 1
BM1802 ABZ 08:25 BRS 09:45 ER4 1
BM1802 ABZ 14:10 BRS 15:30 ER4 5
BM1804 ABZ 16:25 BRS 17:45 ER4 234
BM1808 ABZ 19:45 BRS 21:05 ER4 7
BM1801 BRS 06:30 ABZ 07:55 ER4 1
BM1801 BRS 11:00 ABZ 12:20 ER4 5
BM1803 BRS 11:00 ABZ 12:25 ER4 234
BM1807 BRS 18:00 ABZ 19:20 ER4 7
BM1807 BRS 19:45 ABZ 21:10 ER4 5

It was twice daily weekdays plus a Sunday rotation IIRC.
This schedule is in effect now (I think after the start of S17)
The 0640 ex-ABZ must be a revenue positioned given the lack of a Northbound

Growth continues for now

Still very fragile, imo. Basically the helicopters continue to drag the overall figures down.
However any growth is welcome right now.

Brexit to be sure, min

PnJ trying to put a local slant on a national story involving an EU airline, which may not even become a story.
Bit like the fabled 'north east man lost at sea' in relation to the Titanic disaster a generation ago. Or the rather more recent & deliberate 'NE businessman wins election' in relation to the current POTUS!

If true, not sure how we should read into that?

Shaping up to be another shambolic season from ASL, I think that's the second major delay in excess of 24 hours this year. NWI based 738 coming in at midnight to take over the PMI run (incidentally 7 hours late)
Based BY 738 can't come soon enough!

Quite interesting - and I think I understand the logic - to read that the a/c flew the Dalaman & Corfu rotations before finally getting round to Faro, on the basis better to piss off only one set of outbound/inbound pax than potentially three. No diluting the anger of Faro pax of course. Sadly a/c do suffer unserviceability from time to time, be it a sub-charter or own metal - who's to say the based Thommo a/c in S18 won't encounter problems? It's how the tour operator or airline handle what comes next that is the real test.

Probably - any compo might mitigate the anger. I see the BBC story has updated so say the inbound Faro passengers were flown to MAN then bussed to ABZ, arriving 0100hrs this morning.

Well on a FAO related note, I notice that it is no longer on sale with Thomson for next year, having previously been, so looks to have been dropped.
Leaves a gap in the schedule on Thursdays until about 16:30 so would like to think a new route could be in the offing?
(EDIT - Just had another look and Bourgas is shown for next year in the dropdown with Thursday departures but not yet bookable)

Quite interesting re BOJ - presumably a destination that is increasing in popularity given we now have 2x Balkan flights weekly (as I think we had S17 as well) & now Thomson are possibly going to offer it also for next summer.
I'd like to see Tunisia come back - we had Sat evening flights f/t Monastir before the terror attack that had such a devastating effect on the tourism there - but some suggestions that tourists may be starting to return. I hope so - terrorism should never win.
Loganair are busy on oil flights just now - as well as those that go from the *Babcock terminal on the east side (*I still want to call them Bond!) there are flights appearing on the CHC website now as well t/f Sumburgh. I wonder if it's to do with Statoil's Mariner field which is under development. We have the rigs TO Spitsbergen & Noble Lloyd Noble on site, the Saipem 7000 crane barge & the Safe Boreas floatel about to arrive on station, so welcome work for some. CHC have the Statoil contract I think, hence perhaps the LOG flights?
Speaking of N. Isles, Flybe are offering the following when competition with LOG start up soon, using Eastern of course:
Kirkwall 17w JS41
Sumburgh 18w E170 & 1w JS41
(Thanks to the info provided on the Flybe.Eastern threads)
A jet on the LSI route might be interesting, but will it really save much time over a S2000?
LSI has had competition before (I recall flying up on a Business Air S340, returning BA ATP in the 90s) but not sure if KOI has ever had a competitor on the route before. Interesting times & I'm not sure how it is going to end up to be honest.
Note for the past few Sats the airBaltic RIX route is being flown by an F100 of Carpatair I believe. Are aB having any greater success on the route second time around?
Sorry for the long post - must have been saving them up!

BOJ now bookable, Thursdays 0600/1510.
Also some strong murmurings that additional expansion from Ryanair is on the cards - will have to wait and see though, people like a good gossip.
It's been discussed ad nauseum on the Eastern thread about crewing, but their reliability, especially in the last few weeks has been considerably less than stellar. Take any weekday morning + evening and you're almost guaranteed to see 2-3 cancellations on the board from their 'wave'.
The Fokkers have been full at least. We've also had 734's in to balance things out!
There's only May's figures available right now and they were:
1490 pax
57 pax per flight (26 rotations)
50% give or take
So about a comparable first month to late time round IIRC, maybe slightly better.

Was on a flight to Wick and as they barely have 3 flights a day, dep board showed several days in advance and Aberdeen-Wick was cancelled, cancelled, cancelled- presumably an easy one to cull. My Wick-EDI flight was barely a third full on a Loganair/BE S340
