Flybe have just announced new routes from EXT. As predicted AMS is there along with ABZ and SZG, presumably a ski route. Good news for Devon I think

Does anybody have a clue why Flybe has a whole page on their website about a new CBBC programme called the 'Likeaballs'? There is no explination on there whatsoever. It's bizzare.

As the ABZ route is via LBA, will we see a twice daily route between EXT and LBA? I hope there will be a stand alone LBA flight in the evening, thus catering for business travellers to Yorkshire. Or have they in effect cut capacity between EXT and LBA with the adding on ABZ. Interesting development for flybe out of EXT servicing a new route via another airport.

Interesting. Twice-daily Birmingham-Aberdeen and daily Birmingham-Hannover services had appeared in the timetable yesterday evening, but have disappeared again. Same applies for the twice-daily Doncaster-Belfast and Galway to Belfast City and Birmingham. I guess someone had released the whole winter timetable into the system rather faster than their marketing colleagues wanted to!

Rather takes the wind out of their sails for next week's announcements.

As far as BHX goes with what was in the BE timetable last week it looks like an extra based aircraft t cover ABZ, HAJ and Galway

Found this article on UK Airport News Info website with regards to Norwich. Looks like next summer could see new routes to Frankfurt and French regional airports including Limoges and Bergerac

Low-cost airline Flybe has announced that it is set to offer new flights to destinations from Norwich airport to Germany and France next year. As part of the expansion it will link Norwich to one of Europe's financial capitals.

The budget airline - which earlier this week announced cheap flights from Norwich to Amsterdam - is planning to add new destinations, including Frankfurt, to its routes from Norwich International airport.

Mike Rutter, chief commercial officer for Flybe, said: 'We will be offering new flights to France and Germany next year. For France, people can expect destinations such as Limoges and Bergerac; while for Germany we are looking at Frankfurt.'

'We will announce those destinations in November, with a view to start the flights in the following spring.'

how will flybe's entry on SOU-AMS affect the proposed plans from bmi to operate the route from OCT with four daily flights? This must also spell the end for Scotairways too... KLM might be considering a move into BOH now... to the detriment of SOU. They have been analysing this part of the UK for several months for B737 operations.

KLM will not go into either SOU or BOH with a 737. I doubt ANY KL service in the future to this region. Smaller UK regional airports are shared by AF/KL and if an established route to either AMS or CDG exists, they are reluctant to dilute the market by opening a link to a second Skyteam hub.

IF KL were to operate out of either SOU or BOH, equipment would much more likely be F50/F70.

Regards

Mike

Next up to be announced is Southampton (and probably other places but this is the only one I know for certain) to Frankfurt, within the next week or two.

Do we know of any plans for direct international services from BHD. Despite the comprehensive network from BFS there are surely routes that would do extremely well from city, perhaps some French and Spanish!
