No, but A319s are just about the same size & an operation at 'JB would be marginal.
Also, reflect on the fact that the Government of Guernsey own, & have invested heavily in, AUR & you will not need to be a genius to realise that for them to allow unfettered competition with EZY (even IF EZY were interested in 'JB - which I cannot imagine they are) would be writing AUR's death sentence !
In any event, 'JB is too small for this sort of competition, even on their busiest route.
Also, for The States to pay for a runway extension so as to allow competition from EZY on the 'KK route would be suicidal madness !

Dornier(s)?

Has anyone any inside info on how the Dornier is doing? The lion's share of the ACI/SOU flights seem to have been the preserve of the Trislanders for several weeks now.

Dornier sitrep

CSTGG on annual sched mtce in Portugal this week, second in Aurigny colours due for delivery by end April. Third due before Xmas? Prior to mtce TGG was flying full daily schedule - 2/3 rotations ACI/GCI, 1 ACI/SOU and some days GCI/Dinard.

PS Tri cancellation this am from ACI reported to be due to need for checks following detection that an intruder had entered the aircraft at ACI whilst night-stopping.

Tris replacement

It's a shame that what could have been seen as quite a monumental moment, when the tris finally gets replaced after decades of service, has been such a farce. I mean we are talking about being 2 years down the line and only one dornier has been leased. It's not so much as been painted in their livery nor are the other two leased examples even on the horizon. As for the new examples, I maintain it is very odd that not a single press release from the makers of the 228 or any of the aviation press exists. Take a look at Vikingair and you will see every order is publicised. As far as I know this is dorniers first European NG customer and yet nothing! Absolutely stinks to me, if these planes were to service LGW it would be a different service.

The first aircraft has returned to Portugal for heavy maintenance as previously reported. The second is in Denmark being refitted and (last heard) awaiting a new engine, delivery of which has been substantially delayed.

The monumental moment will be the moment of the Tris's last flight, which is to be suitably commemorated regardless of what precedes or follows - we just don't have a date yet because of endless delays that are mostly beyond Aurigny's control -

Blame the management for not choosing the Twin Otter if you wish (and consider the number of days lost in Ald to crosswinds compared), but I think it's a little harder to pin the rest of the problems on them. Meanwhile Alderney now generally has a good service (espc compared to last winter) - so in spite of expectations the delays aren't really having a knock-on impact anymore.

Dornier?

Perhaps there is no announcement from Dornier, because they have not got round to signing for the new aircraft, and as the first 3 are all used they are not interested. Maybe they should have gone straight in with an order for new Ng's and let Dornier sort out the interim replacements.

Dornier return?

Web site booking engine shows return of Grupo 7 ( presumably Dornier ) on 23 April, but only in GCI to ACI direction?
May be second ac?

The latest addition - G-HUET - has arrived from Nordic Aviation Capital (previously op. by Eurowings, TRIP and AZUL) to take over operation of GCI-LCY services and provide fleet back-up.

It operated the Bristol flights today, arrived in Guernsey a few minutes ago. But I guess it will be positioned to Antwerp again tomorrow or so.

Not yet it seems, as the ac operated LGW and STN flights today. However, looking at flights arriving in Antwerp, there's this:

1740 AUR650P F50 OOVLQ GCI

17:40 local time means it should be leaving Guernsey any moment now.
