I have related this story before i know but do believe its still relevant.
Some time back working at Birmingham we accepted a diversion in from Luton, none of us had heard of them some tiny outfit called easy Jet. The concept of LoCo was very new in the UK. All the comments around the Tower were along the lines of " never going to work " " I give them 3 months max" etc etc.
Well here we are a few years down the line and look how successful they are.
Some will fail and some will be an outstanding success, most of us on here havent a clue about running or starting an airline up so who are we to know.
Regarding the name , yes I agree bizarre but that i would think is the whole point isn't it. The name is a marketing dream, you won't forget it easily will you.
As with every new airline that starts up I wish them every success

Just Googled Flywho, and got Flybe and Virgin Atlantic. Apparently, Flywho.com is up for sale to any speculators out there.
They really ought to get these basics in order if they are serious about putting bums on seats.
(The correct site is at http://www.flywho.co.uk/, but that is not obvious to the average punter).

Funny - both .com and .co.uk seem to be registered to BluArrow Aviation, according to uk2.net.
Perhaps they are getting the basics right after all....

Yes, fair point, so not sure how the other site was trying to sell it. Was being too lazy to check that. But they still need to get their site found if they want any passengers.

Doubts over flyblu launch
Apparently, flywho/flyblu have written to all their interested customers today with the following statement:
"We fully intend to have all of our operating and commercial licences in place and to be "in the air" for the summer season 2005, but anyone hoping to travel before July will not now be able to do so with us"
Yet another delay... I think it's about time someone shut the doors in their offices and switched the lights off as they clearly haven't resolved their problems. Anyone thinking "Now Airlines 2"???

Did they turn you down for a job?
Give them a break - why do you insist on pouring scorn on people who are doing their best to start something new, interesting and - who knows - profitable - that may give work to people?
Give it a rest, Cynic.

Just on a technical point, could people end up losing serious money to these guys? If you pay £5 for an EU Jet flight, and they go belly up, all you lose is £5 + the tax (unless you are already on the move). But Flyblu are pitching at the other end of the market. If they still impose a credit card handling fee, some will pay by debit card, and might well lose their cash. Or would they have some form of bonding protection?
If they ever go on sale of course.

It is the bonding requirement which is holding things up. They either have to have an ATOL licence and bond or an AOC, which brings with it even stricter financial requirements. Which is why there are so many proposed airlines these days and so few actually taking off. The rules are set to be tightened up still further in the next year or two so the numbers will drop even more.
