Good news regards MAN-YYZ for summer 2004
However regards to winter 2004 BMI has not yet decided which carribean route it will be, but inside info tells me that it is likely to be Barbados, and yes folks believe it or not also Mumbai is on the cards. So quite a contrast of destinations however they will announce fairly soon which one they will operate to for winter 2004. So it will either be Barbados or Mumbai.
Which do you think

Or..............
Could it be that bmi have finally realised that - with the co-operation of Star Alliance partner - they can actually make a decent operation from Manchester!
Do they still have a green-tailed aircraft on order or in storage?

There is SO much untapped STAR potential at MAN.
Bmi could open several new long haul routes that would tie in nicely with the STAR network.
What about Tokyo NRT with NH, Bangkok with TG, Seoul with OZ, Los Angeles with UA, San Fransisco with UA, Vancouver with AC.
I don't understand the guys at Bmi, IAD and ORD have been successful, so why is Bmi reluctant towards more substantial expansion at MAN?
Even a MAN-Johannesburg-Cape Town could be operated individually and I'm sure they could fill the seats in all classes??
Regards
Mike

Also, I hear that the guys at bmi have looked at the far east but their aircraft doesn't reach with a full load + cargo - they woul need the 340 for these routes.
Also heard that they have looked at West Coast USA but the yields that would be on offer wouldn't cover the extra cost from the distance and crew required on board. Shame though as these routes woudl be great for demand.
Thats the problem they have on existing USA tough - Chicago is supposedly doing good, but apparantly their Washington route isn't matching Chicagos performance. I think there are so many links to the East Coast US now from Manchester with major hubs in play that the market is saturated, unless it is a local market like Boston is (with AA), all the others rely on connecting traffic.
